Getting a Chipotle Referral

Does anyone have any idea how you get referred to do Chipotle shops? I have been in the dark for months on how to get in. I know the company that services Chipotle (they proudly display it on their homepage), but my application will not go in unless I get a referral. Any ideas or knowledge on this? Thanks!!

First, I do not have any Chipotle locations in my shopping area, so I have not attempted to sign up and snag them.

From comments of others in threads related to Chipotle, I gather that they are looking for long term shoppers due to the live training they offer, and once approved as a shopper and trained, you will be doing regular visits until either you quit the shops or prove yourself incompetent. I could be wrong, but it looks as though they want a small cadre of regular shoppers rather than the 'cattle call' of throwing a job up on a job board and seeing who grabs it.

If I were running a company with primarily one client, I would need only a certain demographic group to meet that client's target audience. Rather than go through 5000 applications, I would build my cadre and when a shopper was unavailable too often or not performing well, I would ask for referrals from my successful shoppers. If a shop was performed monthly and the rotation was 60 days, I should not need more than 4 reliable shoppers who could handle it, and probably 3 would do.
I was told to sign up when KERN Scheduling has the training. There is another thread on this, and I believe there are certain times when they need shoppers...going to their site doesn't do a thing. Your age is perfect, so keep trying, and find the other thread, tons of opinions there.

I came across this company many months ago. And like you, Flash, I also did not sign up with them because I don't live near any Chipotles. But now, I'm moving to an area with them and wouldn't you know it, I can't for the life of me remember what that company was. I was pretty sure I had even written it down for the future. Woe is me...
Irene, in that thread, it was determined that age is NOT an issue, at least according to the company. And, the email of one of the schedulers was supplied by another forum member.
As far as I know you dont have to be a certain age. I have been shopping them for two years and I am 55 and they didnt ask me to see ID when I started shopping them. They are the best company to shop for and there is no way I would ever stop shopping for them. I remember getting an email about the training that they were holding but I am not sure who it was from.
It was from KSS. In their emails, they stipulate an age requirement (though I only remember a maximum cut-off, not a minimum age). At any rate, as I said above, it was determined that there is no cut-off when it comes to age. This information came straight from a scheduler at the mystery shopping company, NOT KSS.
Right. I am 66 and do a ton of their shops.

Poor customer service? Don't get mad; get video.
One of their scheduler told me that they would like for you to be 25 but there is no max age.
I do around 3-4 Chipotle shops a month. You will need to take a training class (which you get paid to take). The training I took was scheduled by KSS. The company you will work for is Ardent. They train every few months.

Thanks HarleyAngel...How did you get referred? Was it through KSS?

Yes, unlike some MSPs that are always taking new shoppers, this MSP takes new shoppers only in areas where there is a need. So, even a referral won't have any effect in those areas where they aren't looking for shoppers. Without knowing where you are located, I can't comment further.

PS:

Happily shopping Rhode Island and nearby Massachusetts and Connecticut
I live in the Denver area

I saw Dayton, Ohio was an option of need and that is where I live. It would not let me proceed without a referral so I put in the name of an old boss who is in the biz. Probably get shot down, but the application was quick.
HarleyAngel and jbaetke, please edit your posts. You are not supposed to state both the name of the client and MSC together.
Actually, this MSC has only one client and has no objection to having it widely known. They are truly unique.

I just check on the MSC's website... the only location in Colorado they are looking for shoppers is Pueblo.

I must agree... this MSC is terrific to work for. They do a great training and they have a lot of respect for their shoppers. They are so very supportive and will assist you in any way you might need. They have a Facebook page where they respond to questions, suggestions, and other ideas. I'd just keep checking with Kern (since they put the word out for training sessions) and jump on board if you're in an area where they are having a training. I really wanted to do the shops a few years back, but I was unable to make it to the training because of a previous commitment. So, I just waited and got trained a couple of months ago. Love doing their shops!

I just saw the training for Chipotle and it says loud and clear, not older than 55 years old....for those that are older and doing it, you probably got in before the age requirement change.

I have also seen the requirement. But, other shoppers have indicated there is no cut-off. They have training here sort of frequently. It just hasn't appealed to me, yet, so I don't know if I would be allowed to test. If I were so inclined, after reading the posts, I would certainly sign up for the training and see if it would fly.

There are other shops with different MSPs who post an age requirement. Some are carved in stone, others have wiggle room.
I joined and was trained after that age limit started showing up. I stated my age and was told it did not matter. Most of the people in my training class were also over 55.

We have been through this way too many times....I applied for the training happening this month, Sassie posts a sign saying, "You do not meet the age requirement", the computer is set up to reject over 55. Different areas have different needs, we haver tons of Chipotle's in L.A. and two in my. small town, still the requirement in L.A. is the requirement...can we leave it rest. walesmaven Wrote:

Yes, we have. So, at the risk of not repeating yet something else that's been said before, I point you to this thread, where Walesmaven supplied the details of the conversation with someone from the COMPANY, (not the scheduling company), and generously included an email address.

If you choose to leave it at what KSS says, that's your prerogative. However, if you really want to shop the business, you might want to consider making contact.

The shops open for any age in Walesmaven post was for "orphan" shops in Fla., and needed to be done, that is not the case in Los Angeles....I wish it were, and if there were a way to get in, I'd have found it by now.
