Scam

I received this same check from seaboard. Couldn't access their Webb sigh either. Started to take it to the currency exchange before I started reading it.

Yup. Seems to be the 'scam du jour' this week. Keep in mind that even a check cashing place gets your personal information to cash a check and when it comes back bogus will be looking for you to make good on it.
No I said before I really read the letter.at 51 Ive Never scammed or taken anything from anyone in my life and raised my kids to do the same.
Hmmm. The written word obviously came across wrong. I was not implying that you were scamming anyone. Sorry if that is what it sounded like. Some folks seem to feel that a check cashing place can verify a check faster than their bank and that is why they release money faster. Chances are reasonable these days that if you took the check to your bank they would spot it fairly fast as a scam. Some banks are really staying on top of the scams quite well while others still take a 'let the chips fall where they may' approach.
Understood and thanks for your imput. I'm going to put the check in a frame. At least it will look good. LOL
Has anyone ever heard of AlbertandDavid.com? They sent me a email regarding a position as a office clerk last week and havent heard back . But I read a blog from someone else claiming it was a scam and I am just wanting to clear things up about them.
Thanks
Out of curiosity where are you finding companies like this and Employedsuccess? If you've been sending out your resume for office type jobs on Craig's List then you may want to get a different e-mail address. A very large percentage of those are scams.

Hello from Alaska,

I'm sitting here watching The Voice and looking at a check for one thousand nine hundred ninety eight and 85 cents. It looks really good with water marks and funny coloring and fingerprint security on it. The check says Texas on it, but the envelope had spain on it, I thought that was weird. Thanks to this forum, I
am not going to use this check or the opportunity to whatever would have happened.
They even have a nice looking website but I can't find them in the BBB or in anykind of online search, not a good sign so watch out. The check has Seaboard Int'l, Inc on it, looks really nice, oh well...
I will run the check and the letter through the shredder.
From Alaska I say, be careful ;-)
Oh yeah, it's really 8:50 pm in my reality
Glad we saved you some grief AlaskanMan! By the way, if you decide to do some real mystery shopping it sounds to me as though you don't have much competition up there as I get solicited to do a restaurant in Fairbanks from time to time and I haven't yet decided to make the about 9,500 mile round trip to do it. ;-)
