Informa Research Services Scheduler

Hello all!

My name is Dylan and I'm a scheduler for Informa Research Services Mystery Shopping. Our specialty is financial institutions such as banks and credit unions. I've done editing, scheduling, project management, and I've dealt a bit in client relations and accounting.

We've been referring to this forum for quite some time now and finally decided to join in on the discussion. I'm hoping to be able to give some input from a mystery shop company point of view and be more involved and interactive with the community. A lot of the topics I see coming up here really vary from company to company, especially payment and shop availability - but there is an explanation for everything.

Has anyone here mystery shopped with Informa? Any good or bad experiences with us?

All comments, suggestions, and questions are welcome!

Thanks for reading - we look forward to participating in the discussions here!

I've completed over 30 shops in the past 18 months for Informa. In my opinion, Informa is near, if not at the top of the industry. You hit each of my three hallmarks for a good MSC:

1: Quality Pay
2: Amount of work required is in proportion to amount of pay
3: Reliable payments/easy to deal with in regards to scheduling

If I could offer you one suggestion, it would be to offer some type of electronic payment option rather than paper checks. Aside from that, I enjoy working with Informa.

We really appreciate your comment and are glad to know we meet your standards. We understand the payment issue, though - believe me, we've been suggesting that to our supervisors for years! They apparently looked into it but were unable to link our mystery shop system with PayPal or any other electronic payment services. It's been at the top of our list of things to change for quite some time now. It does however keep our costs lower so we don't end up having to take any money out of the shopper's payment in order to pay for extra transactions or fees. Either way, we appreciate the suggestion!

Welcome to the forum, Dylan. I look forward to seeing your feedback on different topics.

I've completed assignments with Informa, and it's been a positive experience. But like ZlineDavid mentioned, it would be great to have an electronic payment option.

Hello Dylan

I have worked with Informa since 2009; it is a great MS company to work with. There are a lot of things your company does right such as paid shopper training for some projects and responsive schedulers. I have had only positive experiences with Informa and with my schedulers. You are one of the few companies where the shop fees have increased. It demonstrates the value you place on your shoppers. Welcome to the forum.
Hello Dylan,

Welcome to the board! I am very green at this still, but really like it so far. I just signed up with your company. Looking forward to continuing to learn!

I was wondering how does one become a scheduler? I have doing mystery shopping since 2009 with various companies. I would like the opportunity to do something else and expand. So any suggestions, advice or whatever you would like to say would be appreciated.

Regards,

Christine
Just a quick note to join in on the "attaboys" to Informa. I have been shopping for this company for over 3 years and have completed hundreds of shops. I have had the pleasure of working with wonderful schedulers and never had any serious problems with payment. Informa is the best!

There really isn't a key to it - it kind of comes around like any other basic 9 - 5 job. I wouldn't really describe it as expanding from mystery shopping, though. Although it is still the same field, it's a whole other side to it.

Most people do not narrow their job search to mystery shop scheduling, but I suppose that would only be in your favor! I'm sure an MSC would be interested in hiring someone with mystery shopping experience. I would recommend checking your area for any MSC's and then seeing if they have job openings. Depending on your area, there may be many or none at all. If that doesn't work, I know there are many people who do their own scheduling services online. I'm not too sure how that all works, but it may be worth looking into if you are seriously interested.

I hope that helped!

I have done a few phone mortgage shops for Informa. Love them...

I really enjoy working with Informa. The expectations are clear, the pay is quick and the jobs are worth the pay. I also find that Informa does not require a lot of nitty gritty details. I have done quite a few shops for Informa, and would also like to see payment through paypal.
Jackie, you will be glad you did! Nice people, reports are reasonable and, on some assignments, the pay can be delicious!

Hello Dylan, and welcome back to Mystery Shop Forum. I have shopped, without problem, for InformaRS.

If there are issues or questions with Informa shops, shoppers will appreciate your input. Thank you for your introduction, and for identifying yourself. That is a professional courtesy that is respected, and appreciated, but not provided by all schedulers.
I have been doing shops for you for almost a year and I have to say you are one of the best. I love your assignments, you pay on time and well. Thank you!
Also, I don't mind the paper checks if they will keep your costs down and you can pay me more! :-) I receive checks every two weeks from Informa, much quicker than many of my electronic payment using companies.
Unfortunately, I've not been able thus far to work for Informa. There are no jobs available in the area that I am wiling to shop. I will keep watching tho and maybe at some point, I'll be able to work for you.
I've been registered with Informa for a long time and they do have shops in my area but whenever I click on them I get a message I'm not eligible. Not sure what that's all about.
Hi Dylan,

I completed my first shop with Informa last week. I was very impressed with the response from my scheduler. I have been in sales for years and value quick response times! I can't comment on the pay schedule but I hope to do more shops for you guys soon!
Hello Dylan,

I did work with Informa since 2009; it is a most powerful MS company. There are many things your company does right such as paid shopper training for some projects and responsive schedulers. My experienced was positive with Informa and with my schedulers. You are one of the few businesses where the shop payments have increased. It demonstrates the value you place on your shoppers.
I signed up with Informa three weeks ago and cannot find any shops in my area. I live in a large metro area, so I am surprised there are no shops available.

Hi, rsglenn, welcome to the forum. Keep checking. Just because there are no jobs in your area right now does not mean there are no shops in your area at all. The shops for the month may all be assigned. When next month's shops are released, it could be that there will be some available. The best shops are snapped up quickly, and they typically don't stay sitting on the job board all month.
It took me a month to finally get something too. You have to respond ASAP when notifications go out. Even within 1 minute shops can be snagged up! But sometimes people cancel or new shops get added so you can routinely check or just let the scheduler that you are available for if someone cancels. They love it when you can make their job easier! smiling smiley
