New to mystery shopping and already got scammed, help!!

Hi everyone,
My name is Jessica and I'm new to this forum, new to mystery shopping in general actually. This site is great, I just wish I had found it a week ago. I just started my second assignment with Mystery Shopper Online Jobs and it's been great but I had also signed up with another company named MysteryOnlineShoppers.com and I totally got scammed. I spent an entire day shopping online sites they had sent me, putting in a lot of time and hard work, and was supposed to be paid within 24 hours of submitting. Its been a week, and several emails and voicemails later, I still have not been paid. I guess it's my fault for not researching better, lesson learned.
Anyhoo, I am looking for reputable sites for online shopping (I am a single mom w/ a 3 year old) so doing everything from home is just 1000% easier. Does anyone have any suggestions?? I would also like to do on site shopping but it would have to be with a company that is flexible, where I could choose when I wanted to do the shop. I started looking through the first 5 pages of jobs listed on here and there wasn't even one where I lived. Anyone know of any good ones in Las Vegas, NV??

Sorry to hear about your introduction. Real mystery shopping companies generally won't scam you.

To start, I'd suggest you go to the new mystery shoppers board and read everything there. They nicely lay out the ins and outs of how this all works.

There are several mystery shopping companies which offer call from home shops. They don't pay much, but it's a good way to make a few bucks from home.

As for as shopping Las Vegas, that's a long way from my area, but I'd suggest starting with the biggest mystery shopping companies such as Market Force or Best Mark and see what they have available.

Shoppers doing business in NV need to be affiliated with a Private Investigator firm there to be legal! PLEASE do a search for "Nevada" and "all dates" to read about unique NV requirements.

That's probably why you saw no shops nears you. Just about 4 PI firms in NV handle all MS for all MS companies doing business in NV.

That's crazy, I had no idea! That definitely explains a lot. I'm very interested in hearing more about this video cam thing, how exactly does that work? And where do I sign up?? : )

Video work really requires that the shopper has already mastered complex, long scenario shops like new homes and automobiles, or at least apartment shops, before attempting to do those shops with a covert video camera. Just do a search for "all date" on "video" here and read, read, read.
