Scammed? Severely stressed new shopper

I'm extremely stressed out. I completed a form for [www.secretshopper.com]. It asked for my ss#. At the time I thought nothing of it, seemed logit. With my 2yr old running a muck, 6mnth old crying my mind was focused on "hurry & submit". Now that I can think logically I'm going insane asking "WHY did I go through w/it". I'm a bit at eas as I saw the site on this forum under official secret shopping site but can't help but think am I really in the clear? After all I provided my SOCIAL SECURITY # !!. Will I be ok? If not, anyway of contacting SS office & reporting someone may have stolen it? PLEASE HELP calm my sanity!! I'm a new stay at home mom & look to earn little extra cash. Thanks!

You should be fine. Secretshopper.com is a legitimate website. You will find that every company you register with will need your social security number. If you earn more than $600 in a calendar year with them they will need to send you a 1099. They also need to make sure that they are hiring folks who have the legal right to work as well as have some check that a shopper is not registering with lots of aliases in order to defeat rotation requirements for jobs.
