Aw, I thought this was going to be a thread for [vidcon.com]

$99 covers 2 conference days AND 5 meals? That's way cheap. Am I missing something?

Is that hotel price really only $109 for (5) people including water park passes? *Thinking whether it might be worth a vacation to CO... *shop the airlines*shop the airport*shop GWL*

Now scheduling travel shops for the day after Christmas through mid-January.

At the videocon site the link for hotel reservation info and for conference schedule produced errors just now. I'd like to see the reservation prices and also wonder if there will be a roommate matching opportunity.

[videocon17.com] is the page to go to. Each individual guest must make their own hotel reservations by calling the toll-free Central Reservations Department at 1-866-954-9653 by 4/3/2017. They must identify themselves as members of the Group, with Reservation #1704INDE. All reservations must be guaranteed by the individual and accompanied by a first night room deposit or guaranteed with a major credit card.

Okay. I just spoke with their hotel reservation number. They have not yet opened that for making reservations.

The code ends in VIDE, not INDE, according to them.

Also the rate will be $109 per night even for a room that would be for only 1-2 people. So, unless there is going to be a sponsored effort to do room-mate matching, that looks like a pretty high conference lodging rate for a solo traveler to me. I am disappointed, as I would like to go. But the location means relatively high airfares (unless you rent a car and drive from Denver) , topped by high room rates. The conference fee is a great bargain, with all those meals.

It may take some creative air booking, but Frontier flies into COS and the fares are lower than Southwest. Or you could fly into DEN and take a ground shuttle to the hotel.
Jeff,
Does the hotel have a dea with a ground shuttle service or do you know of one that serves the hotel from DEN?

Thanks

Send a note to info@videocon17.com and as the registrations come in we will send out an email to everyone who has registered to see if anyone can share a room with you.

I checked the sites FAQ and did not see any info.

Why cant Videocon be somewhere warm like CA, AZ, or FL? It is still cold in Coldorado in May.

Why do you keep posting repetitive posts like the Fiji thread and whining about conferences not being in warm states? Like I responded in a previous post, if you don't like your choices, don't go or start your own conference. Have at it!

I really want to go to this event but I think that it will be challenging with air travel. OBVIOUSLY this is the place for the Midwesterners to smoke their legal medicinal stuff at the Great Lodge hotel. Fu Wei!
When did Colorado become a Midwestern state?

"The Mountain States (also known as the Mountain West and the Interior West) form one of the nine geographic divisions of the United States that are officially recognized by the United States Census Bureau. It is a subregion of the Western United States. The Mountain States are usually split up into two other regions known as the Northwest and Southwest. Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming are considered part of the Northwest, while Arizona, Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico, and Utah are considered part of the Southwest.
The division consists of eight states: Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Utah, and Wyoming. These eight states have the highest mean elevations of all 50 U.S. states. "

Does anyone else see a reference to CO being a Midwestern state?

CCC has a long history of disparaging remarks about Midwesterners. I doubt that she was referring to Colorado as a MW state; she was just taking another shot at those of us from the MW. Remember the "potty mouthed MWerners" remark from CCC's comments on the Spring IMSC conference?

I didn't see the "potty-mouthed Midwesterners" remark but I do remember this little nugget disparaging younger shoppers.

"CoatClosetCommando 6m May 18, 2016 05:18AM
The younger shoppers that I saw seemed to be more engaged on their cell phones than actively listening to the host of speakers that the conference offered. I was surprised, considering how much money some of these young folk put up for attending the IMSC. Not all of the younger shoppers that I saw did this, but to each is own? It must be a sign of the times. I hope that they got theyre monies worth."

I also remember CCC's obsession with finding cartons of cigs and good coffee instead of focusing on the conference. To each his/her own!
