Hello and one question...

Hello, I mystery-shopped about 15 years ago (for about 2 years). So now that I'm thinking of doing it again, I've noticed many changes. And my two companies that I got the most work from in the past, aren't even listed anymore! But my question is about automotive service webshops...do you have to give a phone number and will someone from an auto place be calling?? Or do you just make an appointment online with fake info. I was just curious before I would sign up for one, I like knowing what is involved. I mainly did restaurants and retail in the past. That's probably what I will be looking for in the future. I think I would be too uncomfortable to pull-off the car shopping or apartment shopping winking smiley

Some service shops require that you provide your phone number, in order for the associate to follow-up with you in a few days. Probably, you won't know the requirements until after the shop is assigned and can then see the guidelines. You need to remember that the VIN of your vehicle will most likely be recorded at the service shop, for record purposes. Using a fake name could potentially raise questions.
