One more question winking smiley

I was signing up for Alta360 -- saw when I searched for them on here that they were legit and it was okay to give drivers license, etc. My question is...(and I'm just checking so I don't get scammed)...does anyone find it strange that they use a Canadian bank, although it appears that the company is based in Ohio?? I'm just trying to be extra cautious before giving my checking account number. Thanks for any replies! I will try not to be a pest with anymore questions winking smiley

I have done several shops for them, though none recently, and have always been paid on time. They pay at the end of the following month, always on time for me. Hope this helps, you're not a pest to me because this is the first post of yours I have seen LOL!
Edited the first time because after two beers I apparently forgot how to spell "you're" lol. Edited the second time to say that I wouldn't find you a pest anyway for asking questions and trying to learn. Isn't that what this forum is for? Good luck to you!

They are perfectly legit. I completed over 100+ shops for them last year. Then they lost my favorite client. Go for it - they are a good MSC. They pay as scheduled.

Shopping up and down the Colorado Rocky Mountain front range.
I get paid by check with them so I never gave them my bank info so I wasn't aware of that however they are a great company and as others have said they always pay and on time too!
They pay me via PayPal. I've been with them since 2003 when they were Ritter and Associates (name changed in the past couple of years). Perfectly legit.
@MissChoriy, welcome to the forum. Alta is a great company to work with. I get paid by direct deposit. I never noticed what bank wires the money to my checking account, but I just assumed it was a US bank. Out of curiosity, how did you find out they use a Canadian bank? In any event, they pay right on time.
Thank you for all the feedback, everyone! I noticed when I was filling out information at their website, and they were discussing direct deposit vs. a check -- it stated something about being a Canadian bank. I will have to go back in and re-read it. But I am very relieved with everything I have learned tonight from this forum. Because I wanted to shop for them and now I am excited! (And I'm happy to not be labeled a pest...lol) Hope everyone has a great weekend!!
I could be wrong, but it may be that American MSCs cannot pay their Canadian shoppers by direct deposit to a Canadian bank. I seem to have heard that from another MSC. It may be that the OP misread? Also, a big welcome to the forum!

I just looked at my Alta 360 profile and see where the OP got confused. It states the following right above the area where my bank information was entered:

"Please note that the only payment option is paper check for the Independent Contractor with a Canadian bank account. There is no processing fee to receive a paper check from Alta360 Research for Canadian bank account holders."

I read the entire page very carefully. Nowhere does it state anything about Alta's bank locality.
Ahhh.....thank you! I guess I was applying with too many companies and trying to read all the details too fast. lol...this does not reflect how I would be as a mystery shopper, I can assure you!
Hi! I'm new to the Mystery Shopping experience and have spent hours reading through the different forums that are here. Thanks to Everyone, there are lots of great suggestions, ideas, experiences etc.
I do have a question about "risk" - i.e. You pay for everything upfront and "if" your report is accepted you'll be reimbursed for the total amount that you spent.
The shop I'm referring to, required an overnight stay at one of the "Trump" hotels. The shop required you to visit 6 specific outlets in the hotel. 3 bars, 2 breakfast buffets, & 1 deli during your stay.
I figured I could put as much as $500 on my folio with the risk of my report not being accepted.
So I decided I didn't need the stress or the $75 shop pay to risk $500. OBTW - the reports had to all be written in the 3rd person (as did the narrative on their application ) where I'd be the guest and all others that I came in contact with were the associates ! What's with that !?! Any insight would be appreciated !
BTW I'm in south Florida....
i like them a lot too, and I'm in Co as well. In fact, i now have a weekly run w/one of the shops..
bcriado,
Those hotel shops are in great demand among VETERAN shoppers. They really are not for new shoppers. You really need a lot of experience, some with less taxing hotel shops, before ding the shop that you describe. Most MS companies would never think of exposing an inexperienced hotel shopper to so much risk. I strongly suggest that you amble on over to the New Mystery Shoppers area of the fourm and read, read, read the topics "pinned" to the top of the list there to get a good start to understanding how to develop your business.

Good luck and enjoy!
