Email from a man named: Simon from this Company.

Good day everyone,
I have a question. I joined on LinkedIn-Website a week or so ago. I filled a form to work on part time basis. Immediately following that after I filled a small profile of myself. I got a few emails to do surveys and testing's. The odd thing is this: I got and email from a Simon telling me he is sending me a check for $2550 and to do a Walmart Job for him through this company. I wrote to him asking him: "wouldn't you like to know a little about me first before just asking me to do a job for you and vice/verse?" I told him I used to do this type of work back in 2003 for a large company that didn't hardly pay anything for a job back then. On this same day I was writing him this email? I got a delivery from Fed-ex & it was a check for $2550.00 from Simon that quickly. I also received another email from Simon telling me that the check should be arriving this same day and he gave me the tracking number for the fed ex delivery of this check. Also in that same email I got from him? He gave me all the instructions on what to do with this job at Walmart. He told me to take the check and place it into my bank account in my banks ATM machine and to wait 24 hours for it to clear. Then he told me to take a picture of the scanned picture back to him of the receipt of the check i deposited into my ATM bank account & just take a snap shot of the receipt. He said after they receive the snap shot via email of the receipt of the check? Then the company will go ahead and clear the check release the funds into my bank account for me to go ahead and do this Walmart Survey Job! However, I said to myself?: "Why can't I put the check in the the drive-thru window of my bank or go inside my & deposit the check? The check was actually for two large Walmart Jobs has far has the money went. It was for doing a Walmart to Walmart type of paper work job. Then he wanted me to give all details of the time it took and how they employee treated me etc. But, to do all this in the form of and email and not a form itself that you fill out for mystery shops etc.
I was just scammed only 4 Months ago on Craig's list for a similar amount of money and the check was no good.
Has anyone had a job to do a Walmart to Walmart assignment and to write a review on the person who helped you for a Walmart store and the details?
However, the name of this company was at the bottom of his emails sent to me to do this job. There's actually two jobs total for this one check that takes up over 2100.00 of the checks in itself.
I'm a bit confused has to being hired out right away without him not knowing much about myself. No companies usually start off someone to work for them this way.
What would you all do and has anyone else been hired this way?

The other email I got has well was more legit. I was asked to do a NIKE mystery shop job & they told me they were sending me a package of details about the job at hand and they pay for gas and some cash in advance so I won't have to use my own money and there was a lot more details and they also addressed my name in the email for me to do the job on my own time. And if I missed anything on their list to do this certain job? I wouldn't get paid. But, it's not from this company and it sounded more like a real mystery shop to me for NIKE products.
Thank You in advance for taking the time out for me. I have M.S. And I have another illness and wrote this in my profile and was very honest about working part-time. I can do thing's like anyone else right now and I needed a way to get out of the house more then just for going to see doctors!
Thank You very Much in Advance!
Sincerely,
Christine
P.S. I appreciate feedback ASAP since I got this check yesterday September 14, 2017.

Let me ask you these questions. When have you ever been paid hundreds of dollars an hour or been paid in advance of doing a job? The answer to those questions will tell you whether this a scam or not.

Hi Lisa,
When I did mystery shops in the past? I did get advance in some jobs with money for expenses. But, writing from this company on his email? That's why I came to ask thinking maybe this is they way this company is since I don't know what they do these day's for mystery shopping compared to back in 2003. But the heads u for me was the ATM place the check and not inside my bank which I'm taking it to my bank anyway.

The last guy who did this to me not long ago with 3,000 check? I played along with it for the sheriffs to get him and they did! When I played stupid and told him the money was in my account free and clear, now what do you want me to do? That's when I got all the details and alias he used to where he wanted me to send the money and keep $500.00 for myself.

Please don't fall for these scams.....there is no free lunch or checks before the work is done.

Advances are extremely rare. Possibly more now than even 14 years ago. Like the situation with Craig's List, it is just a scam.

I believe they are both scams. I've never been paid in advance, even for reimbursements.
This is like someone doing research to find out exactly what will pass the mustar (is that a word?) when we consider a job as legit or not legit so they can set up a scam that will work, isn't it?
op maybe u are being victim of scam because u posted your real name & entire personal history in your forum profile. u might want to edit big time. this is public forum which attracts scammers & trolls.
Way too much identifying information. Good catch Ninja.

Way too much info....too trusting and yes good catch. Reason many have false names here and never tell last name.

tbh i didn't read past 2 or 3 sentences once a hit scroll button & saw how long it was. her other posts are very long so this seems to be her style. sometimes less is more.
I am not sure why you even have to question that this check for $2550 is a fraud if someone else just did this to you recently with a $3,000 check? Why would you assume this would be any different?

It's mail fraud since it was sent to you in the mail, you know. You can take the check to your local post office, law enforcement, or to your bank branch manager and tell them of your concerns.
Oh, and by the way, the mystery shopping companies I shop for pay me about six weeks after I have completed a shop, some sooner, some later, but shop fees average between $15-$50 for each shop. I can't imagine why you would think some stranger is going to pay you up front for work you haven't completed. I know of one company who does pay some fees up front but only to established shoppers, not some strange person that they have never met who isn't signed up with their company.
