Hello,
I have been mystery shopping for a month and so far it seems ok. i did a shop for a company that doesnt want to pay me because i didnt go to the bar. that i leisured the pool instead. The audit included the pool so it was not for me i dont even swim. The bar was closed and now they will not reimburse me my 300.00 i contacted data quest and the person never responded after multiple emails it was dataquest anyone else ever have this problem.

I'm sorry... That is a very expensive lesson to learn. I have not worked with this particular company before and, obviously, have not read your specific job guidelines, but...

As a general rule, if you are required to evaluate a specific location (such as the bar) and don't, you will not be paid. It is the shopper's responsibility to find out the hours of the location and be certain to visit during an appropriate time. The MSC has a very specific contract with the client and if the MSC does not arrange to have the conditions of a contract met, the MSC does not get paid - and, therefore, neither does the shopper.

If I understand correctly, skipping the pool area was a big mistake and probably cost you the shop fee and reimbursement. For an overnight shop, if it turns out that a required location (in this case the bar) is closed just take a picture to show it closed and you will be paid.

I agree, a tough and costly lesson, but if you do not follow the guidelines you will not be paid, or reimbursed by any MS company. Data Quest is easy to work with and pays reliably for completed shops. in my experience with them, but if I had done what you did, I would not be paid, or reimbursed, and I would not expect to be. If you have been told the myth that MS is easy money that just is not the case.
