Hello! New Shopper to the Forum!

Hey everyone! I've been mystery shopping for a couple of years now, but just stumbled upon this forum. I'm excited to see what's going on! I live in a sort of rural area so I haven't found tons of shopping opportunities yet. I'm loving what I've found so far, but hoping to find even more with the help of this forum. I primarily do fast food / restaurant shops. The company I primarily use has a few fast food places, but there are lots of other fast food places around town. I just haven't figured out what company those places use for their mystery shopping.
Anyway, Hello!

Welcome! At the foot of the page there is a list of the 15 most-discussed MSCs. Sign up with all of those, just because of their size. That should help somewhat. But, to really have a lot of different shops to choose from and to make more $$$, also start signing up with 5-10 more of the nearly 200 MSCs on the other list aby day that you want a shop but do not have one. Most shoppers here are signed up with 50-75 MSC and many with 150 or more. Fast food and restaurants are just the tip of the MS iceberg. Enjoy !!

Poor customer service? Don't get mad; get video.
Thank you! Is there any way to know if these companies service my area BEFORE I sign up? I have already signed up with countless companies, only to find out they have zero mystery shops within 100 (or more) miles of me.
There is not a way to be certain if any company has shops in your area - unless you see a specific ad. However, most of the "15 Most Discussed" serve very large clients who have locations nationwide.

Beyond that, it's okay to sign up for companies that don't CURRENTLY have work in your area. MSC's get new clients all the time, so, just because one MSC does not have something in your area this week, doesn't mean it won't next week. Most shoppers who want to keep themselves busy are with over 100 companies, but only actively work with a small handful - based on the types of shops offered, what's available nearby, etc. It's also common for shoppers to try to offset some of their vacation expenses by picking up a few shops on their vacations, so it can be a real plus to know what might be available elsewhere. Better: You might not think you want to travel 150 miles for a shop... Would that change for a $300 payday? How about $500? Especially when looking at really remote areas, sometimes companies get desperate to have shops filled and will pay a premium to get a shopper to make a long road trip.
