DENNIS HUNT MYSTERY SHOPING SCAM

I AM NEW HERE AND WANTED TO FIRST INTRODUCE MYSELF. I JUST STARTED MYSTERY SHOPPING A WEEK AGO. I RECEIVED 2 POSTAL MONEY ORDERS FROM A DENNIS HUNT ALLEGEDLY LOCATED IN HOUSTON TEXAS. ON THE PREVIOUS NIGHT I HAD SIGNED UP WITH A FEW MYSTERY SHOPPING COMPANIES AND WAS SURPRISED TO FIND A FED EX PACKAGE THE NEXT DAY WITH THESE MONEY ORDERS INSIDE WITH INSTRUCTIONS TO CASH THEM AND MYSYERY SHOP A LOCAL WAL MART STOR

I REALLY DIDN'T THINK THAT A US POSTAL MONEY ORDER COULD BE FAKED. I JUST FOUND OUT TODAY THAT THEY WERE BOGUSD MY WHOLE ACCOUNT HAS BEEN WIPED OUT BY THIS GUY. HAS THIS HAPPENED TO ANYONE ELSE IN THIS FORUM? IF SO COULD YOU LEAVE ME A MESSAGE AS TO WHAT YOU DID TO GET THIS GUY? IM A DISABLED WOMAN ON A LIMITED INCOME AND THAT WAS MY SOCIAL SECURITY CHECK! I THOUGHT I COULD MAKE A FEW EXTRA DOLLARS DOING THIS AND I SIMPLHY CAN'T BELIEVE THAT THIS HAS HAPPENED. I FEEL LIKE AN IDIOT BUT THIS GUY NEEDS TO BE STOPPED. I FILED A REPORT WITH THE FTC -ANY ASSISTANCE WOULD BE APPRECIATED. IF ANYONE ELSE HAS HEARD OF THIS GUY WHO ELSE DO I FILE REPORTS WITH

The scam, unfortunately, has been going on for a long time. Many people find this forum and ask about the checks or money orders before they deposit them and fall for the scam. Your bank has likely reported this to police and you can do so as well. This was obviously not mystery shopping but a scam.
me too, but i receive a money order 870.00 i took it to the postal office and before she could touch it she said it was fake. only that money order came in an fedex package that it no instructions.
I recently got an email from a (so called company that said we will sent you blank amount of dollars, which if I can recall was $850.00)and you can spend it anywhere you like.Did not read anymore and deleted them ASAP!
Wish I had saved that message to pass along as I can not remember the email address they sent to me. Wish there was a Scam Alert before the Member Introdution that MIGHT save some of the the new shoppers. Just feel so bad for the new ones who dont have a clue. It's these stupid scamers who are taken advantage of the ones who are looking for a way to make some extra money in these bad times. I assume the pop up'S are for these scamers are the ones who are luring them in, who knows! And lets all remember to let the new shoppers who are the companies you can always count on and the ones you can't.

Yes, Flash is right! Do what she says and hopefully you will get your money back.
Anymore scams I get I will post. This is getting out of control and some one who is smarter than me needs to come up with an idea on how to stop this BULL Crap. But I feel like we/or no one are not in control of these SOAB'S!
My son had a friend whose mom got scammed like this. She too, was disabled and lost a few thousand dollars. It was about 5-6 years ago and was the exact same thing (check in the mail, put in your account, clean out account).

DOliver56, I am sorry to hear this happened to you and wish you the best in the future!
