This The Norm and I am Not Used to it?

I am still recovering on a mental level, and it does connect to merchandising.

As some of you know I've been on the road a long time, and in Canada there is always young companies coming up, and old companies dying. (Look up North 51 if you want a good example of old an dead)

About 8 years ago one company I had solid performance reviews, November 1st comes along, and hey let's cut your salary.

I just had another company pull the same thing off, as in solid performance reviews, but my salary/area gets slashed.

Is this the norm, and I missed the memo? Or am I just hitting bad luck/bad employers?

I want to be clear I was not an IC with either company.

There may not be many merchandising employees in Canada here.
I am in merchandising over 3/4ths of my day, and I've never heard of that, OldDog! I know some companies are laying off folks or getting rid of DSD, but to slash salaries? No, I have no clue. I hate that for you! Have they told you anything as to why they are doing that?
