Hotel Restauraunt Shop

My wife and I did a lunch shop last Sunday at a famous Hotel's restaurant. The service was really bad due to lack of staff. The two working people were burdened with tending bar, hostessing, serving, and taking care of take our orders. The lunch shop took 1 hour and 10 minutes. The food was pretty but bland. The fish was not fresh and tasted as frozen first which was obvious. Then to top it off the day following the shop I check my bank account and they had charged me twice for the meal so I had to return there to get my refund. I told the manager that the service was poor and at 54.00 for lunch the food was pitiful. They made no excuse for the service nor the poor quality of food. I will not eat there again even as a shop where I am reimbursed. There is no care.

That is too bad and I believe rare, but not unheard of. Years ago I also did a dinner in a top hotel. The fish had a bone all through it, the rest of the entree was bland, really bad and not edible. The entree was taken off the bill. The Manager and waiter were supportive and apologized. My report was a doozy and the client actually emailed me for more details. I found out the sous chef and chef were Irish and there food is bland, but this took bland to a whole new level. The hotel was very concerned, and since the place had two tables filled on a Friday night, I wondered what could be wrong, and found out. The restaurant has since closed and was replaced. I was paid and thanked.
