Fast food shop question...

The fun fast food shop that requires a drive thru and sit down also states that it reimburses $20 for purchases. So I can buy a couple extra items and they'll cover it? Probably a stupid question but hey, that's why I'm here yawning smiley)

No. Just the meal/items required. If you go over like $11-12, they usually ask an additional question about what you purchased and why you spent so much. I've had that happen for breakfast shops where I get orange juice - it's $1.99 regardless and that throws my total up higher than usual.
So if my lunch order that they require comes to $6.50, I can't throw on 2 cheeseburgers to make it closer to $10 and get reimbursed for more while giving kids an after school snack??
The fast food shops I have done give you specific items to purchase. I don't think you have the option to order other items. It might be a different chain as this one does not have a cap on reimbursement, just a list to choose from.
I don't think so, but I've never tried anything like that. I got the impression that it was for the required purchases only. I guess I've never had much of a desire to actually order more food anyway, usually am sick of what I have to order in the first place.

Not to mention, it could throw off the 'timing'.

If you try, let us know.
Your basic golden arches shop has a specific group of selections you must order at the drive thru and a specific group you must order on the walk in. You could invalidate the shop (and therefore not be paid or reimbursed) by purchasing the wrong item or additional items as it is the timing of delivery of the meal that is super critical. Don't even think about buying additional items! The reimbursement is an 'up to' and is more than adequate to cover the costs in most markets.
For sure the most anal retentive shop requirements in fast food. Don't order less than or greater than, don't forget to subtract something when the shop rules tell you.

Speaking of shop rules, the answer to your question is in them :-)
The reason they use the "up to $20" is to cover price fluctuations in different markets or from different franchisees. Within a 30 mile stretch, I've seen the prices of one required purchase meal fluctuate a dollar or more, hence the window.

I'd be amazed if the two meals together came to more than $15 anywhere in the country, but you never know
Whatever you do, don't have them "hold the lettuce, hold the pickles." things like that, because if you do, the client will see that on your receipt and your shop will be invalid.

Well that isn't the best advice - you wouldn't hold an item UNLESS it's a special order that requires holding an item. That's a pretty important point to leave out, eh?

The DT and the WI price has to be close to $13-$16 anyway and you want to order more stuff for your kids.?

Your DT order is not the same as the WI, they can't eat that? (2 drinks, 2 fries amd 2 entrees????????)

It sounds as if you might not get paid if you don't follow the guidelines for ordering. Be careful, just b/c Ur reimbursement is $20, doesn't mean that you can order extra items.

My response was for a new FF shopper who might dislike mayo for instance and asks the restaurant to remove it from the burger/sandwich, not knowing it could invalidate the shop.
DO NOT disregard their instructions. Follow to the letter! Or it will be invalidated! Ask how I know! lol
