Apartment shops

Well, I did my first 2 apartment shops today and I liked them so much, I came back and booked 3 more!

These were easy IMO and the reports, not so bad. Just poured myself some coffee and cozied up with my laptop and got er' done!

I would say doing a few of these a week can be profitable, no money out and a couple hours work.
Anyway, just thought I'd pas that on!
Have a great night!

Reaching targets can be a PIA sometimes but yes, I always liked doing apartment shops. That's one of the things I do miss. I just could't hike a complex or climb to see a second floor model apartment anymore. But Kenny did one last week that we finally got the phone call part done yesterday. For some reason, they wanted the onsite done first and thennnnnnn the recorded call. Well, the agent onsite got sick and left the property Friday afternoon and isn't expected back. It took four days of calls to drag that out of the property and Ken got permission to talk to someone else. Then the voice message answered for another two days! grrrrrrr. A hard earned $30.

I like doing apartment shops but they've become scarce for me because of the 18 month turn around time. Apartment shops actually used to be my main mystery shopping income. I really wish they would get more clients in my area. I'm thinking of taking a route out of town, but I can't seem to find the time.

That is a problem I am having with EPMS. Most of the apartments in my area are owned by one of three companies. I shopped so many for two of the clients that I am not allowed to shop more for this client now. Since they are all owned by the same companies, that doesn't leave any still available.
I have the same problem. I did a lot of shops for EPMS for one management company, and now I can't shop that company anymore. Does anyone know how many months you have to wait in order to be eligible to shop a company again? It seems as though one management company has bought up at least half the apartment complexes around here.
I think for EPMS I've heard 18 months. For some others it might be as little as 12, but I've never heard anything shorter than that.

Equal rights for others does not mean fewer rights for you. It's not pie.

Gang -

I really, REALLY want to do apartment shops. But, I have this insane fear of the recorded telephone call. (stupid I know, and I also put up a topic about it)

How on earth do you get over that?

I've tried listening to my voice recorder, I've tried calling my husband's phone and leaving messages - but I just freeze up and there's this big empty space - OR, I end up talking so fast I have no idea what I said! I've tried putting a list of "questions" in front of me before I start talking on the voice recorder and have my husband play the "rep" - and it seems to help somewhat.

ARGH! I just wish I could get over this fear of "being stupid" on the phone!

(BTW - it's not just apartment shops - it's ANY MSC which has recorded phone shops!)
