Deactivating from Companies using Prophet System

I have decided to stop shopping for awhile, and have been trying to deactivate all my accounts. I have been unable to discover a way to deactivate accounts in the prophet system. I tried just erasing my SSN and other such data on my profile, but it will not let you save changes if you take out pertinent data like that. Any suggestions? Thanks very much.

That would be helpful, except for a few of the companies, the only link they have is for signing up new.
Isn't there an unsubcribe feature at the end of the email they send you? Or can't you not just answer the emails? or send them to your spam folder.

Sometime I think it is just a matter of not replying to there email. Some of your personal information is theres for life. If you "qiut" they are not going to used it but if you reapply it is there so they know it is you.
If you think that "deactivating" within any system erases your personal information from that company's records, it doesn't. All they do is change a database field from "Active" to "Inactive" or migrate your information to a different place in the database.

This is especially true if they have issued you a 1099 in the past. If you've received a 1099, your information is staying with that company for a minumum of 7 years past the date of issuance.

I'd save yourself the hassle and just send all shopping emails to your spam folder/deleted folder/etc.
If you send it to your spam folder, doesn't that activate something that makes the same email address go to my spam folder? That is my interpretation of what I've read. It seems it's awfully unfair to the legitimate business for you to do that.
