Paypal

New to mystery shopping, I set up a Paypal account as a matter of flexibility. Some of you old-time users, please school me on how to best use the service. Simple stuff like using it to pay bills or transferring money to my bank account???

I transfer my money from PayPal to my checking account. It's a very simple transaction. The PayPal site will walk you through it.
I have the free account. As soon as money is deposited, I withdraw it and put it in my bank. I do not use PayPal for anything else except to get paid by MS companies.
BonnieCYour right the only thing I would use paypal to is get paid the free acct is the way to go.
I concure with everyone so far. I try and wait until I have enough to generate a good amount before I call particually because it takes 3-4 business days to get it into your checking account, but it is free, and easy to do. The site walks you through it.
Another idea is to transfer it into a Medical Savings or Student account (if you have kids) and tax defer.
With PayPAl you can get a debit like card which will earn you money back when you use it. You just have to request it.

I usually keep my shopping money on it so I always have a choice of cards to use...My bank debit card or my PayPal card.

Sometimes I also transfer $ from my bank account to my PayPal so I don't use the bank as much as I do my PayaPal Card.

PayPal can also be used if someone neds to send you money for anything and no fees..
like with a money order or bank transfer..
I use the free service with PayPal. Not had any problems with them. It usually takes 3 days to transfer my money over to my regular checking account.
I have a Premier Account with PayPal as well as the Debit Card. It's very convenient for my Mystery Shopping expenses, especially when I need proof for reimbursements.

Secondly, quite a few MS Companies companies are making this the payment option of choice. And when those multiple MS Companies payments are posted contiguously around the same time of the month it's easy to see how this could supplement your income. I highly recommend it!
So with paypal, you have to actually transfer the money to your bank account? I thought since it was setup on my savings account it just automatically goes in.
Remember one thing Pat D in LA always go to paypal by putting [paypal.com]
in your webbrowser. Never go to paypal from an email link.
I love PayPal. I put mine in a account with PayPal that collects interest and use it as a Savings Account. I just leave it in there until I really need it and let it collect interest. I will withdraw it and transfer it to my checking account when whatever I am saving for comes due. Right now I am leaving it there to side my house this summer. Works great.
The last time I received a payment, pay pal said that I had to click on one of 2 choices to receive my money and both cost a certain %. I tried to click a link for more information and ended up with a premium account and minus 55cents and 2.9% of my check. The other choice was a 4.9% charge. I sent an enquiry, but still haven't received a reply. Anyone have a similar problem and how did you fix it? My other checks never cost anything to receive them.
I use their debit card and make purchase for what I have available.
Occasionally, I have transferred money to/from my PayPal account. It is very easy and the transfer usually occurs within 2-3 days. This helps if you overdraw a bank account too.
And the money is available at least as soon as you have been notified you were paid. I like it very much and wish all my Mystery Shop Co. used this for payment.
You can use their debit card just like any debit card, either debit/credit. If you need cash immediately, it will cost you from an ATM and the only hitch is you have to request your funds from your checking account even though you do not have a checking account per say. I know because I tried from a credit card and I had to contact PayPal.
Just realize that their are paypal look alike emails. They want to steal your account # PAy pal the real paypal always uses your name not valued paypal member or your email name.
I have been in contact with Paypal over accounts for cleints and my boss at my full time job. My boss received an email once and clicked on the link, started to fill in all the information, then questioned why they asked for her SSN. She called Paypal. It was a fake email. One of their Biggest pieces of advice to guard against giving away that information was that ALL ligitimate Paypal emails will be addressed to the subscriber, ie Hello Sue Brown and not Hello Paypal member. The fake emails only had 2 difference, one was how it was addressed and the other was the link in the email. If there is ever a doubt, don't click the link, simply type is the addresss www.paypal.com and log into your account. If you think you've gotten a fake email, they ask you send it to spoof@paypal.com so they can confirm it's fake and try to fend against it.
I wish more MS companies would pay either via PayPal or electronic funds direct to you bank account. Would save the he postage as well as the environment.
I prefer checks. There are the stubs and for me that's easier to track. It took me quite a while to figure out how to withdraw from PayPal. I don't know why. Anyway, it takes a few days to send the money to the bank, apparently so somebody can collect interest. Then it takes a few days for the bank to decide that the money is withdrawable, so they can collect interest. When it goes to the bank, all it says on my statement is PayPal, not who the original payer was. I tell all my mystery shopping companies that I will take payment by PayPal because I don't want to miss out on any assignments. There's a lot of paperwork. (1) Who owes me what. (2) When the pay is due. (3) Who paid. (4) How they paid. (5) Did I get the payment? With checks, PayPal and direct deposit, it's very time consuming to follow the money. I'd rather spend the time searching for assignments.
I have used PayPal for Ebay forever. That is a Premier Account and there are charges when I receive money. For my jobs, I opened a personal account which is free of charges up to $500 received money per month. A few clicks, and the money is on its way to my checking account; couldn't be easier.

Checks will take a few days to get to you anyway, and then you have to take them to the bank. These days your mailbox isn't a safe place.

At the risk of being redundant, please don't use links in emails that appear to be from PayPal, or from your bank as well.
Paypal is the best way to go. Even for a dummy like me it was extremely easy
to set up and use. I think it's the safest way to pay and get paid.
