I save all my reports to file, too. It's helpful if I have to refer back to the report for clarification.

I have two DVRs, one newer and one that's about 10 years old. Both have a "hold" button on them. So I get it ready, start recording, then slide the button to hold. That way, there's no worries about your conversation from five minutes ago echoing through your shirt. LOL
