Having a fun lunch with a light report is one of my favorites right now, although that could change. I do less fine dining, reports and no fee has
gotten stale...but I do them a couple times a month. Retail is fun for me,
Pier One was fun and I enjoy the perks I can buy. Whatever is easy, close by, and pays within 2 months, or quicker. I also like exploring new places and varity.
edited to add...I forgot to mention I LOVE new home evaluations.

Live consciously....

Well, recently, an office supply shop, where I shopped furniture. The report was incredibly fast, short and it paid 9 bucks plus 8 bucks reimbursement...

But favs are: Fast Casual Burger Shops.
Bookstore Cafe Shops
Bank Shops
Grocery Shops
Chicken Shops
Msytery/Reveal Drive thru shops with Prize (for employee).
I love the retail shops--especially if the report is simple. I did one the other day however that had a longer report than some fine dining reports I have done. I don't mind purchase/return shops as long as the fee is big, the report is short, and I can do it in the same day. Bank shops are nice too. Grocery shops are good for stocking the pantry.

Irene, I'm like you. I like my fees. Food shops sometimes don't pay them.
I do insurance quote phone shops almost daily. I slam out three on my way to the day job. LOVE it!
The kind that pay well and within 30 days or lesswinking smiley

Equal rights for others does not mean fewer rights for you. It's not pie.

I like shops with food I enjoy or retail shops with items I actually want to buy. The less forced interaction, the better. I also like travel center shops and alcohol/tobacco ID shops. Fast, easy, I don't have to lie much, not too difficult, and I get something for free on top of my pay!
And with short and simple reports!

I like retail shops that reimburse an item that I can use. My ultimate favorite are the paint store (where a gallon of paint are reimbursed) and the Greek all natural beauty place!
My bad. You are oh so right!

My favorite type of shop so far has been taking my husband to the movies. He has his own little assignment while we're there. I love that because we're doing something for my work together. I do my observations, etc., and once the movie starts I can relax and watch it without further ado. One small thing to do after the movie, and then plenty of time before the report (which is quite long) is due.

What could be better?! grinning smiley
great question.

I like the cosmetic shops, you can relax and enjoy being pampered.
and I like the cell phone shops too, and I actually like doing the
exit polls - used to do them anyway when I volunteered at voting time-
but as someone said above, the ones I really like best are the ones
that pay fastest and mostest.
Anything that has to do with my two dogs; i.e. veterinarians, pet stores and my all time favorite is the "fresh" grocery store.
It's a toss up between new home video shops and high end hotels with room service dinner and reasonably short reports.

Based in MD, near DC
Shopping from the Carolinas to New York
Have video cam; will travel

Poor customer service? Don't get mad; get video.
Faves: Definitely gas shops. Nothing beats free gas when gas sells for $1.49/L ($5.96/G). Oh, and grocery shops too. Also a big fan of business verifications or any kind of revealed audit.

Not-so-faves: Restaurants, any kind. I'm a darn good cook and prefer my home cooking to what is served in restaurants, any day.

Now, if an MSC started shopping sushi chains or molecular gastronomy restaurants, I might change my tune winking smiley
Casual burger shop and grocery shops where you check out the pharmacy only. I am running out of questions to ask though.
Hotels - Either very high-end hotels where the experience is worth the pain of doing the shop or ones that are in a decent hotel (at least 3 star) and pay a living wage along with full travel so I can earn points.
There is not a chain or type that I prefer. I do some for a while, then do other kinds. What I like the most are the ones with questions that are not repetitive, a little narrative, and schedulers and editors who don't cause problems.
jdfg, I'm curious. When I have done various insurance shops, I have to identify myself. Eventually, from a call a few months ago, the agent says they have information on me. I have done phone shops for auto insurance. What is it that you are doing and how are you doing them to be able to call repeatedly without running out of companies?
Internet inquires, MoneyTree (because it is quick, easy, and pays well), most restaurants, and JoAnn fabrics because I love the merchandise. I also once shopped the humane society to see if every dog had its own bowl of water.
My favorite is Golf Course Shops. They reimburse me for my round, my riding cart, range ball if the course has a driving range, $10.00 to spend in the Pro Shop, $10.00 to spend atthe resturant, $ 5.00 if they have abeverage cart( no alchol allowed) and $30,00 fee on top of all the rest.

Fine Dining Shops (except for Coyle because their reports are ridiculous)

High-end hotel shops

Any other shop where the report is reasonable, the instructions are clear and the pay is reasonable and timely

Wow that has to be the most useful shop I've heard of yet - verifying animals are taken care of.
