Dear Shopper,

ServiceExperiences™ is a company that conduct surveys and evaluate other companies. We get hired to go to other peoples companies and act like customers in order to know how the staff are handling their services in relation to their customers. once we have a contract to do so, you would be directed to the company or outlet, and you would be given the funds you need to do the job (either purchase things or require services), after which you would write a comment on the staffs activities and give a detailed record of your experience.Examples of details you would forward to us are.

1) How long it took you to get services.
2) Smartness of the attendant
3)Customer service professionalism
4)Sometimes you might be required to upset the attendant, to see how they react to clients why they get tensed.

And we turn the information over to the company executives and they would carry out their own duties in improving there services.

Most companies employ our assistance when people give complains about their services, or when they feel there are needs for them to improve their customer service. Your Identity would be kept confidential as the job states (Secret Shopper) you would be paid $150 for every duty you carry out, and bonus on your transportation allowance, and funds would be given to you if you have to dine as part of the duty.

Your job will be to evaluate and comment on customer service in a wide variety of shops, stores, restaurant and services in your area.No commitment is made on this job, and you would have flexible hours as it suits you.

If you are interested do send in these information:

FULL NAME:
CONTACT ADDRESS(NO P O BOX):
TELEPHONE NUMBER:
MOBILE NUMBER:
AGE:

So we can look at your distance from the locations which you have to put your service into, and your address would also be need for your payments. This Part time job opportunity is for both the USA and Canada Residents.

Thanks
James Anderson

My REPLY (yes, I sent it out, from my junk email address)

Oh WoW!

You mean I can really earn that much money for being a secret shopper? I didn't know that. I thought being a secret shopper was some fake!

Here's my information, please let me know how I can sign up so I can start earning right away. My husband got laid off in October and you know with the jobs the way they are, it is so hard!

FULL NAME: Not Stupid
CONTACT ADDRESS(NO P O BOX): 103 Pluto Lane, Outer Limits, Galaxia, T230X
TELEPHONE NUMBER: 123-456-7890
MOBILE NUMBER: 123-456-7890
AGE: 119 years young

I cannot WAIT to get my information. Please hurry up and send it to me since I really need the money. I promise I'll be the best secret shopper you ever had!

I will try and figure out the smartness of the attendant. They must be really DUMB!

Oh, I hope I don't have to sometimes upset attendants. My momma always told me to be nice to people. If they get tensed, it won't make them mad at me and pull out a knife or gun will it? Do I get hazard pay for doing this? I mean, if I have to be in a life and death situation like this, I better get some hazard pay!

You said this is only part time. What if I want to be full time? Can't I be full time? I don't want to be part time. I want to make a lot of money and be full time. How much would you give me if I said I would be full time and not part time? Do I get double and triple pay? Oh, and don't forget to add that "Hazard Pay". I don't want to be doing a full time job for you and then get some bullet in my leg.

I think that was all the questions I had. Did I ask too many questions to you? I don't want to lose this chance to make a lot of money. Don't forget, I said I want to do this full time. I don't want to be part time. I need the money. Oh, and make sure you have my address right. I don't always get my mail. I think NASA loses it somewhere. Maybe they didn't put enough stamps on it or something.

I will be waiting. Please don't take too long to send me the stuff I need to get started.

Thank you so much for thinking of me!

I got the very same email and I wish I had done the same thing you did but instead I popped the delete button.

I laughed my butt off over your response.

You would think that if they really wanted to do a GOOD scam they would get someone to proofread and correct their wording, wouldn't you?
Great response. I always love the phrases "smartness of the attendant" and "they get tensed." Goofy bastards.

I'm so tempted to take the email address and hit up all of the p()3n sites, give out the email. Oh, and any freebie spam sites I can find out there!

I just feel so special because I got an email!!

Rainy - Send me a PM on how do give out the email and I'll help you. Maybe we can enlist all the shoppers. Oh, how I'd love to get even!
Oh goody! I just got that same email in my junk folder too. Time to entertain myself.

Hahaha - that was a great response! Too bad that tons of desperate people will fall for it, though....
Yea Baby!

I'm going to sign up with this guy, too. I'm ready for those $150 shops and also eager to upset and help smarten up those attendants.
I was just going to paste it here, when I see someone else got the letter too. Such awful grammer and spelling..

Hope the newbies can use this letter as a terrible example of what a fake letter looks like...

This company does exist (scammers took the company name)and I am trying to see if I can send this scam email to the REAL company...
@ plmccut: Easy enough, just make sure your personal virus scan is working and your cookies are turned off. There's probably other things you could do, but I am not 100% sure how / what to tell you. Then, start visiting those freebie sites that tell you to sign up for this, that, and the other. *NOTE: MAKE SURE you've got a crap email address you don't mind using that may get filled with spam as a "Just in Case"!**

Not sure if you've visited these, but these sites are hilarious!

@ Cettie: Oh, I so want to read the letters you send to your Scammer! You've got to post them here in this thread!

@ SportsEd: Um, he sent me the letter first!! James is my scammer. I don't know if I want to give away my $150 jobs! Wait a minute, it looks like my James has been very busy today. *sigh*.. here I thought I was speshul! sad smiley

Well, James didn't email me back yet. Think it was the address? I'm bummed, here I was all ready to work this fulltime - not parttime job for $150 per shop!

Well, OK. You can have the shops, but I want a chance to kick those attendants to the curb.
I'm not gonna share my $150 with you though since I have to do the hard work and see smart in attendants.

It's those others. I don't trust tensed people.

I got one of these emails too . I read over it very fast ,so I didn't notice much detail. I did catch the cash up front, the $150.00 pay, and the senders email address, which all looked fishy, so I decided to do a search on the forum.

The drawback to responding to the scammer is that he slams your email because you did respond...and gives it to all his friends as a new possible target...
No - like I said.. "Yes, I sent this out, from my JUNK email"

Hopefully most people are smart enough to realize you only play with these scammers using a junk email address.

Since you responded to a spam e-mail, now they know that the e-mail account is a live one and you will get a lot more spam from them and others they sell the info to.
COMMERCIAL BREAK - IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT!!

**NOTE** *JUNK* Email Address Used in Replying to Scammer!!**

For Newbies & those who don't know - a junk email address is one that people set aside JUST for crap sign-ups:

1. Go to a business and they ask you for your email? Give them the junk email so you get their advertisements and solicitations in it.
2. Sign up for something "free" online? Use your Junk email address.
3. Have to sign up with a store you are shopping because they have a rewards card and the MSC wants to know if the cashier "sells" the rewards card? Give them your "Junk" Email address for those "Store Rewards Cards".
4. Buy or selling on Craigs List? Use a junk email.
5. Sign up for games or stuff online? Use a junk email.

UNLESS you are familiar with scam baiting, feel confident you can play with the scammer, and have a healthy dose of skepticism - I would not recommend that you reply to Scammers.

I've got 3 Junk email addresses (1 is used entirely for work since I do reviews and write for my job, and talk to website owners that I don't know, I need to have something for this). I've got a junk email for Craigslist & Freecycle, and a Junk email for #1-3, 5 above.

I do have other email addys - those I give out selectively family, friends, one is used only for MS'ing - and a ton I can create with my owned domains.

Well Peach - Since I get to figure out the smartness of the attendants (and have the really hard job here), you can talk to Sports and see if he'll share the upset and tensed evaluation!

I dunno know though, Georgia Peach Girls are all sugar and sweet so you may not be able to do that part of the evaluation. Hmmm.. maybe that's why James didn't send you an email???

Loved your response! Smart girl, like others I would have deleted it and not thought to be so creative.
I got that one, too! I check my Spam filter about once a week just to make sure nothing good goes in there and saw it! That means one of the companies or sites we signed up with sold our emails. I wouldn't be surprised if it was the "V".
