Trial by Fire with Cori !

Oh my - that was grueling smiling smiley

After some success with other companies, and good reviews on reports - I took a shop with Corporate Research last Friday afternoon (the commission had gone up nicely, and I needed something from that store anyway). Wasn't able to get right on the report, but got started with 4 hours left to get it in. Wellll....., error after error, finally it "took" - 5 hours of work later. Really. I spent 5 hours. Since it was my first with them, I was determined to succeed. I tried 3 different browsers (explorer, chrome, safari), and two different machines. Suddenly, it just 'broke loose' and started accepting... And even though the site said there was online support available throughout this process, I had no luck. (I did take screen shots of my errors, and answers). I 'Chatted' with someone this morning, and was slightly reassured (though she did say there was an error on part of it and someone would contact me), but she was obviously swamped today.

Well - it was probably something I did wrong, but that was really painful. There is another one like the one I did Friday with an even better commission, but of course I'm not about to take it until I work through this. Any tips on how to handle this when they contact me (if)...and what do you think - will they accept my report likely (assuming it fulfilled their requirements)? I want to work through this and 'get back on that horse'.

Any advice?!

Thanks!

When I do my CORI reports I always get error boxes that come up. I say okay to the first two, but when the third one comes up (it looks like some kind of glitch) I check the box that says something like "prohibit errors from reporting" or something along those lines. Then I can complete the report without any more error boxes coming up.
Thank you spaztck- maybe I finally hit on the right box to check (don't recall)...
I was definitely out of ideas even after reading all FAQ's so was very relieved when it finally sent, albeit 20 minutes 'late'.

(BTW , this shop had only a "6 to 8 hour" window to submit- so I didn't procrastinate).

You would think they would hire decent programmers since they save money with their low paying shops. They probably bid it out to lowest bidder and got exactly what they paid for. I always tell ppl do shops for Cori at your own risk.

Not a fan of companies that treat their shoppers as a number

OK I almost hate to say anything but I have never had a problem with reporting through CORI and I use plan ole' AOL that pretty much everyone hates...well there are alot of AOL haters out there anyway.

I read about this and think it will happen but so far so good for me.

I had that same problem last week with the bath supply store report. Finally after several failed attempts I went to another computer to enter it. I was able to get all my responses not word so I emailed them to myself to make reenterng it easier.

It turned out several of my responses were too long. The error messages didn't tell me that. I have never had that problem before.

Well - I got an email requesting a little more detail in one narrative. No problem - I sent it to them quickly. So maybe they will process my report and we can move on, and the wasted time will just be a bad memory.

I enjoyed the shop, and the form itself wasn't too daunting - but I'm jumpy about trying another one just yet for fear it will turn into a marathon...

They've been responsive today. If it's resolved this fast, I guess I can't ask for much more than that.

Kalfini- that bath one is the shop I was hung up on. It was one text box in particular that couldn't decide if my answer was too long or too short.
I simply could not make it happy!

I remember when I did my first couple of shops for CoRI. It takes some trial and error to figure out their system. It is best to use their photo resizer. That was my main problem, my photos were not the right dimensions, receipt upload included. I also learned that even though I can select my shops and everything else on Chrome, I have to submit reports on IE. I definitely recommend that you take the shops (at a decent fee, though. Let them sit for a few days or longer while the fees rise). This company pays like clockwork. I also suggest emailing the scheduler directly or calling. They are very helpful. My first report was also the bath store and I am sure my thread is still on here with my cries for help lol It took me literally all night to get it submitted.
As I understand it, you can only file with Internet Explorer, or at least that is what they told me.
Thanks Sassyshopper - I'll take more of them.
I assume I was at least partly responsible. Like anything else, there's a learning curve... I feel a bit like I'm in one of those college classes where they "weed out" the weak! lol
I've done lots of shops for them. I use Internet Explorer and have never had one problem.

I use Firefox and have no problems with my reports.

That was exactly the problem I had. I wound up adding periods to the end of my text to get the exact number of character counts it required. It was extremely difficult to figure out the error - no matter what the browser.

I use always use Chrome and had problems with my first report too. Now I type any narrative in a word processor and cut & paste it into their form. It's a lot faster that way.

I was assuming all the errors mean their site isn't compatible with Chrome but since others are using it without problems I don't know.

Cut & paste works though.
