Not in most cases, in my experience. An account manager is often the person in direct contact with the client, whereas the scheduler may not have any access to the client. In a few small MSCs the account managers also schedule shops. Otherwise, when you ask a scheduler for a variance or a clarification, she/he may say, "I will have to check with the account manager about that." The account manager may say, "I will have to ask the client about that."
