A tip for phone shops with multiple calls (especially realtor shops)

Has anyone else done realtor evaluations? The company assigns them in groups of 10-12 listings, and you have to get all of them turned around in 48 hours (unless you're unable to reach an agent). I've just finished my second set and I was tearing my hair out, because after I made my first round of inquiries, I had five agents trying to call me at the same time and all leaving messages. Then I had to go back, sort the timestamps and the messages, figure out which phone number went with which agent (because they'd call me back from cells or other numbers not listed on my report), and track how many times each agent tried to get in touch with me, and record elapsed time for each event. And then I returned all calls one after another and record exactly when I called each agent. My downfall was not keeping a written log at hand as I did all of this. "Why, I can simply look at my cell phone's call log and get the timings that way," I thought confidently.

Hah, hah. No. Given that I had 1 or 2 contact numbers for 12 agents equals 24 numbers, all from the same area code, they were getting mixed up in my head pretty fast.

Sometimes I am not bright.

Sometimes I redeem myself. I did figure out a trick that was nearly as useful. I have Verizon Wireless. I went to my account and pulled up my call log. I could click a number on my usage record and add a "nickname" so that it no longer displayed as a string of digits. So, for example, I went from seeing "3:12 3139802734 3:28 7723590273" to "3:12 JohnDoe Office 3:28 JaneDoeCell." Much better. And better yet, that nickname was applied to every entry for the number. So all of a sudden the three incoming calls from Jane Doe's cell were clearly listed with the call times.

Passing along in case someone else would find this useful.
