No, GFK... I won't be having wings today.

I could have called this post, "No GFK, I still don't have a penis... Shops in other areas might not require a male shopper, though."
It is obvious this scheduler does not understand how to use Sassie. I have gotten separate e-mails for each city today and all have been in Illinois. Why would I drive across the river for wings when I won't drive 10 minutes for themwinking smiley

BTW, you should have gone with your first instinct on the subject, LOL!

At least it made a tiny bit of sense since my city borders Illinois. Is she sending these out nationwide? Silliness.

(email #13 just arrived...)

The Sassie emails have big national lists of shops, but there is at least one shop on the list within my state or an adjoining state. Problem is, I'm getting an email for each location, and they are increasing in frequency.

Kinda like the "HELP! Who wants to put on business casual and drive over for a late-night Baconator TONIGHT!"
These people need to learn how to use Sassie instead of driving us nuts. Between one of the guys at GFK and Greg at Summit, I'm ready to turn off e-mail notifications from both companies. Those two have been sending me multiple e-mails every single day for over a week. Now this.

I get emails hammering at me to take shops in New York city, they don't seem to understand that the state is big and I'm 600 miles from the shop. Woo! They wants to bonus it to me for a big fat huge $5 extra for gas mileage.

I'm in Wisconsin and I always get e-mails for the airports in Flordia & NYC. I attempt to filter all my offer e-mails into a separate folder for gmail except those who don't pester me with needless automated stuff.

I've got it mostly working. I pick out a common phrase between all the e-mails.
Cettie: New York? Hah. I get calls and e-mail to do Philadelphia shops. I AM near Philly. But only part of it. Philadelphia is such a large, spread out city it's an hour drive from one end to the other. Other cities are like this, too, like Kansas City, MO. In fact, when you throw in suburbs (as opposed to throwing them out) most large cities are spread out all over the place. You would think schedulers would take a look a mapquest once in a while, just to be goood at their jobs.
I also don't like the "as the crow flies" mileage they use to tag us. I get a lot of NJ shops offered that are only 5 miles away, provided I have an amphibious automobile (remember them?). If I use a bridge and a couple of expressways the 5 mile shop turns into 30 miles ... one way.
Oh well, other than getting my bile moving, I don't have to take them. That'll teach 'em!
Since it's summer, GFK is probably hoping they can get a shopper(s) who's traveling to those states for vacation.
Just got a series of emails badgering me to go do some shops in CANADA. They said it's only 23 miles from me----as the crow flies ACROSS Lake Erie. When I pointed out that I no longer have wings and would have to take a bridge and then hike back to the location they didn't believe it could be 200 miles one way to get there. I swear they don't have a clue as to what a map looks like.

Cettie, that's about as dumb as it gets. 23 miles across the lake.... and if you're talking anything in the Toronto Metro you'll they'll need to throw in at least another $20 for parking.
I don't mind getting the emails so much. I travel alot to visit family in NY (Long Island, city and upstate!) CT, MA, and RI.

Though last week I received an awesome job offer, I was so excited....until I realized the shop was in Texas. LOL Never been....but would love to someday. Know this is offtopic, but we went on a cruise last year, and met so many people from that great state. So friendly and down to earth. Breath of fresh air. smiling smiley
I don't why any of these people don't use something like google maps or map quest. The mapping programs will give maps via actual roads. I had a scheduler on the phone with me and she wanted me to pick up two locations for the same company. She mentioned twice how they were so close together it would be easy. She said I should be happy because she never see them only a mile apart.

They may have been a mile apart, however they were on opposite sides of the Mississippi river. Going north would have added over 40 miles and going south would have added 60 miles.

Unlike the DeLorean in Back to the Future, where we are going, we need roads.
Ask for them to pay for a ferry ridesmiling smiley I actually did that once. The location in Illinois was almost directly across the river from where I was, but going all the way back to St. Louis to get to a bridge and heading back north would have been about 4 hours. The ferry was kind of fun and turned it into 30 minutes each way.

IMO, Maritz was the worst for not understanding that "same state" does not mean close.

Yes, Maritz I know I do not live in a large state, however I do live in the northern part of my state. That city is in the southern part of my state and about a 6 hour drive.

No, the $1 bonus is not enough to motivate me to make the 12 hour round trip.
