I am sitting here hoping for the phone to ring. A MSC called me because they have a last audit in my area (very rural area where it is hard to find shoopers). The scheduler asked me if I could do it even though the big distance (I did not need to mention it: 150 miles). So I stalled I kept saying it is a long time driving, the gas price now is $4 (well, $3.50 LOL), plus the time of the report...all I hear on the phone is the anxious voice saying tell me the price. My first idea was $90, but I really wanted that job. In that area I know another company who has problems every month to do two audits...I think, I get this one and then I can shoot high for the other two. This will be an awesome weekend. So I keep low and I say $75. All I heard was I will talk to my supervisor and call you back.
The call arrived one hour ago. It was a yes!!! But then I hear the days available are Wed and Thu. WHAT!!!! All that drive in the middle of the week? I have to work, go get my daughter for school, sleep and go back to work...when I have the time to do 300 miles with at least 3 audits?
So I explained my reasons and I said it has to be a Sunday. The last thing I heard was I will ask my supervisor...
I am still here crying...with those three jobs+maybe something else smaller+for sure a lunch somewhere I could have pulled at least $150!
