Gas Price Woes!

I have been doing a lot of shops, and the first thing I consider is how much the gas is going to cost, and after deducting that from the shop fee, is the shop worth doing? If I can get more than one shop in the same area, than one shop pays for my gas and the other is actual profit. I guess I am going to look into putting mileage on my tax deductions because otherwise mystery shopping is not very profitable. I hope gas prices go down soon or maybe I can afford a newer car with great gas mileage!

I've finally started asking for, and receiving, travel expenses. A couple of companies have also offered them to me without my asking.
i dont do shops without expenses being paid and because gas is now well over $4 and approaching $5 in some areas that I shop, it has become non-negotiable.

Good idea, I think on some jobs that require some travel, I will ask for gas compensation. Will see how that goes over.
And I would start deducting mileage from your taxes regardless. I'm all for paying my fair share, but no sense in giving Uncle Sam more than he's due.
Holy gas prices Batman!

Montreal had a huge spike in gas prices this week. We're now paying $153.9/L - that's $6.15/G! WTH?!?!?

Not happy, at all, about this. MSCs that don't pay out gas expenses will probably have trouble finding takers for their assignments. Or not, who knows? There's always someone who thinks they can make a buck from a $10US assignment that's 20 km away. Maybe they drive a scooter?
