Excel spreadsheet problem

Since most of use Excel for keeping track of shops/expenses etc., and use different colors to help with that, I was wondering if anyone has had this problem. I have Excel 2003 and previously worked just great. Now every time I try to change the color of a font, the program becomes unresponsive. I researched it online and the only solution I've seen so far is to change the default printer. I did that, rebooted and still not working. Also tried repairing the program. Anyone else ever have this problem and, if so, were you able to fix the problem?

I'm sorry that I can't help you with Excel. I use Open Office. It's a free download with free updates. I like it better than Microsoft. You might want to try it.

is it only in that sheet or every new sheet you create that is having the issue?

Across the top go over to review tab. On the far right there is another tab that says "protect / unprotect tab" depending on if its on or off. Sounds like yours is protected. If you unprotect the file you should be able to change the fields.
Problem solved. I deleted the two color printers I had installed and it works fine now. Thanks for the input!
