Martiz

Has anyone tried to use the new site at Martiz? I put in a shop okay, but cannot self-assign.

I've put in a report but think there are parts of the site not working. I assume you updated your profile and preferences so you could see new shops. I haven't tried to self assign yet.
I had problems completing reports, they call them debriefs, and had to call, but it was hard getting through to someone. What I have found is that they want you to take a refresher test every month, even though you have done the shop many times. So I have relayed to them they should offer more pay for the time involved. Otherwise have been good to work with. What I have found with assigning shops is that you have to apply for them and then they let you know by email and on their website. I also have received phone calls from them to do last minute shops and to be schedule for certain shops.

Once you have successfully done a number of jobs for them they allow you to self assign.
I have been self-assigning several jobs for them for quite some time. I received an e-mail from them saying certain shops were coming up and they would be available last Thursday. They said I could sef-assign. There seems to be some problem because it said I had never done these shops before and I have done dozens of them! I guess there are some bugs to be worked out of the new system. I did update my profile.
I got an e-mail from Martiz today and was able to self-assign the shops I wanted. They must have had a problem with this. I think I will like the new site once I get used to it.
Beverly, edit your post and remove the clients names w/ Maritz........it is a violation of your ICA. Realize that schedulers and MSCs read these forums and don't want you to get in trouble. Also, Brenda the company is Maritz not Martiz.

I don't know why I keep attempting to do shops for these folks. There always seems to be some darn time wrinkle that turns their shops into orphans. My latest shop for them was a MUST DO on 9/28 that became a MUST DO on 9/28 or 9/29. Ok so far. Instructions indicate that if you have not received the materials by 9/24 to contact them. Ok, but on 9/23 they email out to rather contact them if you haven't received the materials by 9/25. So 9/25 I email I have no materials. 9/26 I email again because nobody has gotten back to me. 9/27 I get a phone call to expect the materials probably 9/30 and no, there is no tracking number, so I can only assume the stuff hasn't been shipped yet. And they want me to drop whatever I am doing to go do the shop ASAP. Gimme a break!!! All this for a $10 shop I already had to take a "qualifying test" for?

This shop would have worked for 9/28 quite well, and that was what I signed up for. I did NOT sign up for 9/29 or 9/30 or 10/1, nor to spend my time hanging around for the UPS guy in case the stuff showed up! And it is frankly not my problem if they had unforeseen delays with the client. If they want this done on an emergency basis at something other than the time I initially agreed to, they need to be offering some $ incentive.
Hi Flash,
I signed up for this shop myself. I received my materials on time and called the company because I could not find the pre point touch icon they said you must use to let them know I got the materials. They told me it was okay. After seeing how many forms you have to divide into 15 I told them I thought $10.00 was too little pay. The employee didn't say too much. I also signed up for another photo audit for one of their gas shops. At least you get reimbursed for $9.00 but get only $11.00 for the shop. I have to look at the video again and take the certification test. Is this worth the time? I've done a few of their drugstores this week and have found the new site and the new questionaire really easy. It's great to be able to upload your receipt and invoice them online now. Plus they add a little more when they call you because the shops are overdue.
Congrats on getting your stuff on time. That also tells me that the problem is probably NOT the client but the company being slow to get the stuff out. I certainly do not intend to provide "peak performance" when I have already wasted a lot of time for $10. Any future jobs done for them will be in response to phone call requests with enough money there to actually make the job worthwhile.

I found the new website reasonably easy to get information uploaded though judging from my emails and PMs a whole lot of folks are having a whole lot of problems with the site. And of course a question I emailed them when I had a question about the site several weeks ago they still have not answered. Phooey on that!
Flash, you are so right. I'm not signing up for anything like that again without some extra pay. $10.00. Shame on them. Putting all these brochures together took my husband over an hour to do. Thank God for him! I hope it doesn't take me too long to put them out. I'll wait for a phone call from them from now on, too!
It was easy, straightforward and less than 3 miles from my house in a shopping center I am in generally 3 times a week or more. Foolish me sad smiley

Today's email announces I should get materials tomorrow and the kicker is they come by UPS which generally gets to my house at 4:30 PM. The email indicates if we are unable to do the shop TOMORROW, we should let them know so they can reschedule it. Since I have a dinner shop tomorrow, if the stuff isn't here by 3PM they will get a call to reschedule and I'll leave a note for UPS that the package is refused so it can go right back to them.
I did the exchange today. It took me over an hour to walk through that store. I never shop there so I'm unfamiliar with it. Employees were great, very helpful. Most of the registers were empty or just had a few of the starter kits so there weren't too many old forms to discard. The LOD helped me at the end and I didn't have to go to the stock room. Guess I'll consider this merchandising experience. It really should pay a little more than $10.00.

I had trouble entering it on the site. When I got to the end I didn't know what to do about the signature and date for the LOD. I clicked "I'm stuck" and it wouldn't let me submit an invoice because the data was incomplete. I've emailed them about it. Hopefully I'll get an answer tomorrow.
My materials arrived at about 2PM, so I gathered my rain gear (it was pouring) and went to do the darn thing. I am familiar with the store and it took me over an hour because of waiting for the management sorts to approve my going through closed registers and such replacing old materials and then finding the person with the magical key and signature for my paperwork and to dispose of the obsolete material. Got home in time to put in the report and get critters taken care of and changed to go do my evening shops. But this shop was certainly a waste of my time. And for all their commenting about leaving all the rest of the stuff with the LOD and making sure you put 15 agreements in every register, my 400 agreements didn't even make it through 15 agreements in every register. So much for these being specific boxed amounts for each store.

It was a merchandising shop. To exchange the old credit card agreements for the new ones that are shipped to you in a box that weighed over 30 lbs. Also had to divide them into packs of 15. I had some left over as they didn't keep them at all the registers. Pretty easy shop but took over an hour because of a lot of walking through that big RED store. Right Flash?
It was pretty efficient once I could get in motion. It was waiting around for a management type to come to customer service to authorize me that really wasted my time. Of course while I waited I bundled into groups of 15 so that once I was rolling with my packs pre grouped it went really quicky because most of the registers were closed and I could just shove a group in and snag out what was left in there to throw into a plastic garbage bag. I had to buzz for someone with access to the registers at 2 of the 4 interior departments and wait for a customer to finish at one of them. But in the store most of the time spent was waiting for management either for the authorization phase or to sign off and throw the waste in the dumpster. I didn't have nearly enough supplies to restock the slick brochure as suggested. I didn't worry that not all registers seemed to have them, my instructions were to put them there and I did. If they don't want them there, they can be responsible for ditching them. My walking was just one big loop of the store.

Nevertheless, with all the BS before of getting materials and having to reschedule the rest of my stuff on the last day of the month to meet THEIR failure to get the stuff to me in a timely fashion and turning down other last minute shops for the last day of the month, this job cost me a bunch more than the measly $10 it paid. This will be my last shop for them without significant bonuses because their fees have never been generous but this and their gas stations have had me working for less than $5 hour. A BIG NO THANK YOU!
I'm eyeballing their gas shops now, first time. Never worked for them, never had an email from them. Do they email shops only after you've done some shops for them?.

What are they gas shops like? I'm already accustomed to the Sunoco ones for that other MSP that you hate, but I have them running smooth as glass, even with the photos. Is it more or less work than those?
Flash has already told me about the gas shops. Oy, vay. Anyone do their national banking chain? The one that was bought recently by a big investment co.
I am very disappointed with this company. The materials are over a week late and now I am going on vacation. I have emailed and called them and then they say they did not receive my communication. They must think they are the only company we have assignments for. My patience is running thin.

Beverly, I would call them and just cancel the job because the materials are so late and at this point you will not have an opportunity to do them. I sure wish I had done that rather than waiting around for the stuff and getting more and more annoyed.
Over the past year and a half, I have done over 120 various gas photo shops for Maritz. At best, the pay was mostly just marginal (between 9.00 & 15.00 and sometimes gas reimbursement). Since they just finished implementing their new reporting system, I think I have done my last of these for them. I feel the new system is a joke and a waste of my time. The questionaire has been reformatted and now takes twice the paper, ink, and time to print the same questions. Now I am doing the job of their photo editing department, which takes more of my time. The photo upload time has more than doubled, while the pay has remained the same. Consequently, the pay per hour has actually decreased dramatically. I live in a rural area and high speed internet is too costly, so I am stuck with dial up. Maybe with high speed, it might be worth the hassle of continuing these shops.I did one job today and I think I will cut my losses and give the job back to them, since the reporting problems that they have been having are still not fixed, but have actually been worsened.
Ouch Tom! Indeed their site is slow even with high speed. I can only imagine what it must be like with dial up. I find it really sad that they decided to spend the time and obviously money to build their own website and what they got reminds me of their shops--out of date, out of touch and not user friendly. Guess they paid their site developer the same kind of peanuts they pay their shoppers because they certainly did not get a well optimized site by a competent developer.
I did one of their gas shops outin the boonies. It was a jobber site (a store that happened to carry that brand of gas) and more of a "good old boys" general store and bait shop kind of place. The unfriendliest people I may have ever met and just one small thing didn't work correctly of everything I had to look at. The manager snatched my papers, wouldn't sign them and threatened to shoot me. He gave me 30 seconds to get off the property. I told him it wouldn't take that long and found out it truly is possible to lay rubber on a dirt road.

Considering the community it was located in, it's a classic example of wen there is too much inbreeding in a population.
