You have to order 2 meals...fries, drink and all!

I do the dining first, then hit the drive thru. Easy shop. Too much food! smiling smiley
They are pretty easy. Timing is critical! You have to dine in and go thru drive up. You have to have at least 10 minutes between the visits and you have to be in the restaurant a minimum of 15 minutes. The report basically asks about service, cleanliness and speed of service. You have to pay attention to the all service areas including behind the counter. Completing the report is not difficult, just don’t forget the receipt and make sure your timing is DEAD ON!
That's a great Idea but remember you have to sample it. Doing drive up second is easier to make an excuse if they notice you. I had that happen before; I simply stated that co-worker wanted me to bring lunch back when they found out where I was, or I almost forget. They both work well
Read the instructions all the way down. They will tell you what to order for which portion of the shop. The DT has a list and the WI has a list. Look at the shop details if it is a special order shop. You also might have to ask for certain condiments at the time of the order. Read read and read somemore. Remember a burger and a bonus is a good thing.
I almost always order a burger for the dine-in portion of the shop and then complete the drive thru & order McNuggets. That way, I only have to eat one and the other 9 can be shared with my kids or, in your case, a co-worker.

Others on this site will tell you that you have to order beef/chicken in a certain order, but that is not at all how I read the instructions. I think they mean on one shop order beef and on the other order fish/chicken.

I've done both the drive-thru/dine in first & second. For me, it's much easier to dine in first & drive-thru second. As others have said, I simply tell them I'm taking a meal to someone else if they recognize me (which ONE time, they did.)

It is a lot of food and the reports are easy. If you do too many, you'll gain weight! Be careful. smiling smiley

that's pretty and great..
Read the instructions carefully! In my area they specify that the drive-thru MUST be done first, and you must wait 5 minutes before going inside, then spend 15 minutes inside. The total time ends up being too long for my lunch break at work!
My instructions also say do drive thru first. I have only been questioned one time in 7 years. I was literally the only customer in the entire place for a Sunday morning breakfast shop. I did DT first, then went inside. The cashier said, "oh, you're back!" I said, "the hubbs wanted a biscuit, but I had to go to the bathroom!!" Ha ha ! Yes, it was awkward! I think he bought it. I then sat in the dining room and played ony phone and took a bite of his biscuit meal!

If you can do WI first, it is much easier and more logical.
What excelrn said. Also - be sure to PAY CASH and go within the assigned time frame. If you use a debit card or go before or after the time frame, they will reject the shop. The required time frames are different on Sundays and at breakfast on Saturdays. See page 2 for ordering requirements and be sure to order only what is on the list. Some shops are "special order" and you will ask that an item be removed from the sandwich at both drive-thru and inside, like pickle. Have fun - at first it seems like a lot and hard, but after you've done a few, it's pretty easy.
I have probably done over 100 of these shops. It does not matter what order you do the DT/WI in. On my instructions, it is recommended to do the DT first.

- Pay Cash
- Only Order what is on the instructions (does not matter which item you order for DT/WI) but it cannot be the same item for both portions of the shop. Be very careful with this... if you order anything incorrectly, your shop will be rejected.
- Don't forget your receipt
- Don't forget to check the bathroom
- Do NOT go back into the restaurant to retrieve your receipt if they do not give you one at the DT. Your shop will be rejected if you do so.

I usually do the WI first, wait the required 5 mins outside (which is easy to do as you have to make notes for the WI portion anyway) and then hit the DT. It you get a funny look or get questioned, you can just say you got a text from hubby/wife/co-worker asking for lunch.

Hope this helps!

The nugget are in the first visit portion. So you would have to order go through drive up first to order nuggets. Another thing I learned by coaching is if it a special order you pretty much have to order a sandwich on both section so you can special order both. In my area you have to do the shop alone. You are not allowed to take anyone children or adults. I have never seen a required sequence order only a suggestive order but there must be time between the visit. I think the most difficult part of the shop is to understand the timing requirement and getting it right (never round the time for this shop). These shops are pretty easy but they are specific on what you order when and what times they want. As I mentioned earlier they basically are looking at how clean the restaurant is, food quality and accuracy, speed of service.
I wouldn't eat here if you paid me....HAHAHA

I guess others will....lol

However, I do use the drive thru for $1 beverages, and then park in the parking lot and use the free wifi to log onto the Internet
I always do the drive thru first, generally wearing a different shirt or jacket, maybe even a hat. I always think they'll remember me less if they only see me long enough to take my money or hand me a bag. I also usually leave more than 5 minutes between shops, but then I'm lucky that all of mine are in a place where I can do other shopping. If anyone ever questions (only happened once for a different shop) I just tell them that my neighbor or mother called and asked for breakfast/lunch/dinner, I got it taken care of so fast I had time to come back and eat before work.
I too do the drive thru first and have not had a problem. I just park on the other side of the lot (opposite the drive thru) and wait at least five minutes after I am done, to go in and do the dine in portion. I have never been questioned. I do wear glasses for driving only...but I am sure that does not make that big of a difference.

I asked about this once and it's just two lists and they can be done either place...so if you do list A in drive through it's list B for inside and vice versa. I have many many many times done it in reverse order. I prefer to bring the nuggets home to save for the kids in my life so I always get them in the drive through as I am leaving and I have never had a problem.

I was scolded for that. I was told that the order sequence it important to follow and I risk my report be rejested. As independent contract we can do the shop the way we want. We also are accountable if not done correctly.
My instructions always say DT first! On several occassions, I have done McD's breakfast, lunch and dinner and a retail shop in between! At this point, sometimes just the name McDonald's gives me heartburn. But...at the end of the month a $7 job is sometimes worth $25!! So Mickey D's---here I come!!!

Is it always a beef on one, chicken on the other list? I don't eat beef but eat pretty much everything else. I've always avoided these shops (and those "taste test" demo shops) because I wouldn't want to sign on to find out I won't be able to complete the requirements. I had thought at least one part would always require a burger of some sort. Have there been instances where that was not the case? (Salad/chicken, fish/chicken, etc.)

Still waiting for the "guys" burger shop to start offering turkey burgers so I can snatch those up finally winking smiley Hey a girl can dream!

Pretty much. One order has to be a burger of some kind, the other has to be a chicken sandwich/chicken nuggets/fish sandwich.
I do the burger/nugget thing too and bring them home for the kidlets. I also do the dine in portion first and drive thru second. It makes no sense to do the drive-thru and then the walk up. For one, if you do the drive up first you have to wait before you go inside, and then you have to be there for 15 minutes inside. If you do the inside first and then the drive thru, you don't have to wait the 10 minutes. Also, like you said, if you do the walk in first and then the drive thru it's easy to say oh I just got a text and hubby wants some food. If you did the drive thru first thing only thing I could think of to say is that you saw someone on the corner asking for food so you gave up yours and went back for more. It's a stretch, but it might work.

The timings are easy if you have an iPod. Just leave it off, but have one ear bud in. I usually hold the iPod on top of my book or other reading material that I bring with me. You can keep your thumb on the little thing to click the laps while you're talking and they don't even notice. Then you can start a new one for the drive thru.

Can you get a Happy Meal for one of your orders?

It has all the required elements - hamburger, fries, soft drink.

AND a toy, which I save in a big Rubbermaid bun for when kids come over.

Anyone ever do this?
I think my directions used to say that the drive though was required first and now it mentions that it's recommended. Now I always do the dine in portion first and I've never had a question about that. They are very particular about the exact sandwiches you order and whether or not it's a special order.
Pretty sure you can't do the happy meal as some of the report questions refer to them trying to upsell to a larger fries and a Coke. If you don't order exactly what is listed the report will be rejected.
I don't believe the requirements differ from region to region. Since you have to be alone, the Happy Meal is not allowed because it's designed for kids. They suggest doing the drive thru first, but it's not mandatory. I vary from one store to another based on my mood, the parking situation and other nearby shopping I can do at the same time. Just make absolutely sure you order only from the first list for whichever leg you do first and only from the second list for the second leg. It seems complicated at first, but after the first few, they go a lot more easily.
