store closings

I had two shops canceled last month because the store had closed down or gone bankrupt. This week I had two more canceled for the same reasons. Please check back to see that the shops are still active before shopping them

Good point, molittleton. Unfortunately we are more likely to discover at the curb that the store is closed in most instances than they are to cancel the shops. It is becoming more and more important to call ahead to make sure the place is still in operation before spinning the tires.
I also signed up for a shop, with Trendsource, which was cancelled. It is 2 minutes walking from my home. It was for December. I got confirmation I had the shop, since I have self assign with them. I later got an email stating the shop had been canceled by the client for Trendsource as the location is "closed." Well, I see it every day. It still is open for business and still has the same national name...What is up there?

Perhaps the store will be closing soon so the client doesn't care how good or bad the customer service is? Retail is going to try to keep everything open possible through the Christmas buying season because they make a disproportionate amount of their annual sales during the month before Christmas. Right now many businesses are announcing staff reductions at the same time they are announcing their dismal quarterly financial reports. An area newspaper had another 10% cut across the boards. Circuit City has announced closing of 155 stores. DHL has announced they will continue their international business while eliminating ground and air service within the US. In most cases these cuts and closures will take effect Dec. 31 or later.
Good point. I forgot about milking the Christmas season. :-)

Baja Fresh has now closed down. No warning for either customers or employees. Sad state of things.
Are you sure its the whole chain, or just certain stores? The just entering into a liscensing agreement to distribute their salsa nationally in October. See:
