GOODWIN FYI: Their healthy kitchen client went to another msc

Noticed that Goodwin's former healthy kitchen client went to another msc.

Wondering ( and hoping) this was a direct result of their shops being boycotted
due to their sleazy disrespect for paying shoppers on time and trying to justify it
with transparent and offensive lies such as "Problems in our accounting department." etc.

I got an email from Goodwin about a burger place within the last week, but I didn't go for it. I was having mixed feelings about doing that shop, since the only other time I did it, payment was months later.
Stacy, all you have to do is after 90 days, send them an email and they pay the next day. I even got paid this month without having to ask for it!!
I've heard that they are actually paying without being asked now, but I wanted to wait until that had been happening for awhile longer, because every minute I spend on a shop is more work for the same pay. That reminds me that I do need to check my shop log to see who hasn't paid me.
For the last few months, they have been paying between 30-45 days w.o. us having to send an email. Hopefully this continues. They have more than one healthy burger client, so I will have to try and figure out which one is no longer there and then where they went.

Gee Goodwin told you that. They told me Santa Clause was working for them part time and used their money to buy gifts fort kids. Not really, but any excuse is a good excuse. They said they were victims of embezzlement and did not have any money to pay shoppers. I bet they got their paychecks.
Apparently MSC are suckers for embezzlement schemes. I can think of a number that have stopped paying shoppers after claiming someone ran off with the reimbursements and were never seen again.
I've done several shops for Goodwin in the last couple of months. Been paid without having to ask. Whew!

Based on their payment history, I have not shopped for them, but keep up with clients. A sports bar with an ethnic theme. The place is declining, and at its best is fair to middling. Wouldn't go there on my own dime, so there's no value in the reimbursement-only shop, of a reluctant paying MSP. There's also a client, formerly shopped by another MSP, now with Goodwin. Formerly, it had a bar shop component for integrity, and a dining room shop, a fee and almost-enough reimbursement. With Goodwin, it is reimbursement only, and 15% less reimbursement, at that. It appears that Goodwin, and at least some clients, are sucking for air. Kind of a magnetic attraction.

Beyond that, embezzlement is not the shopper's problem.

I understand what you are saying, but why should you have to ask to be paid for work you completed. They may pay promptly after being asked, but you should not have to ask.

Hopefully they are changing their ways and paying without being asked for good. You can always hope right?!
We can hope, but I wouldn't hold my breath. Although one of the assignments I did for them in October was paid promptly, another one for the same client completed that same month is still pending payment. Also, both promised gift cards, and I have yet to receive those.

I just feel that 60-90 days is too long for a reimbursement. If I put it on a credit card and rely on payment then I have to pay those fees. I am trying to make this thing lucrative so I have done away with a lot of companies.
There is a whole thread already dedicated to Goodwin's improving payment schedule. For several months now, I have been getting paid earlier and without having to send a reminder e-mail. I have seen a real positive effort on their part.

And if you can't afford to wait 30-45 days for a reimbursement, don't accept a reimbursement only shop. I do dining shops (casual and fine dining) for places that I would be going to in my "real" life and spending my money either way. IMO, you do dining shops for the "free" food/alcohol and the dining experience itself, not to rake in the bucks.

Unfortunately all of the shops you guys are speaking of aren't offered where I am. But if a fine dining would pop up then I would consider completing it. After 8 years in the business and about 30 pounds later, I like the shops without any output.
I'd give them a break. The shops are easy to complete and if you're eating out you get value for your efforts. It's nice that they are self assigning and if you're visiting NYC, you can spend a week and not pay for a meal. BTW I've had to request payment too,
After reading the posts about Goodwin, I was leary about doing shops for them. But I have been doing shops for the past three months now and have always gotten my checks on time.

I'm always amazed that people don't "see the signs"....I hope that in a few weeks were aren't hearing the horror stories again. When I have to chase down and beg for my money....they have seen the last of me.
