LOL. Bonus is not high enough for me yet. But I know what you mean, the schedulers sound absolutely frantic.
KSS has hit the panic button. Unfortunately, I just had my oil changed the last time they were screaming for help.
cake - Last email I just got said "name your own bonus" and pays within two weeks! Had I known this I would have waited . . ..

They are at $15 bonus here. Since I don't *need* an oil change right now, I'm not interested...especially since I've gotten $30-40 bonuses on oil changes in the past.
Also would someone take those BWW male 18-44 shops. Cripes, I'm getting at least 4 morning, noon and nite, and I'm not even the target audience!
I'm not sure I'm far enough past my last change for the oil to be black yet. But the little thingie on the window has fallen off so I have to go find my shop paperwork to even see how long it's been. I have no problem doing one early but I don't want to get busted by doing one too soon to be realistic, although with the thingie gone I could always say I forgot when I did it and wanted to be sure I got it changed before going out of town.

anyone know how long it takes for the oil to get acceptably dark?

I traded in my Dodge truck for a Jetta. I smacked myself in the head once I found out much an oil change costs for a Jetta. I was getting the truck oil changed bonused. The Jetta doesn't even qualify anywhere!
Why would an oil change on a Jetta be any more than any other passenger car? Is there something unusual about them? Look for Jiffy Lube and Midas and some car wash places do oil changes that are shopped. You don't have to go to a dealer to get an oil change shop.

Unless the Jetta is a diesel??? the bonus there is that you shouldn't have to change them as often, but yes, they will be more expensive when you get them. I have a diesel truck and the oil changes are usually $125 or more (I think 15 quarts of oil are used), but I don't do them very often.

Yes the deal with a Jetta is much longer between changes, like 10,000 miles if I remember correctly. Some dealers were offering standard maintenance free for 36 months or so.

The Jetta takes synthetic oil. They are on the Oil Can Henry's list of cars that you can't bring in for the shop. My Ford Focus is also on that list, which sucks because they can never fill those shops in my town. Jiffy Lube says that synthetic oil is not reimbursed. I haven't asked what exactly that means yet because there are only two Jiffy Lube's within like 75 miles of my house, so the Focus gets the Jiffy Lube shops. I live 25 miles away from where I work. We also put about 400 miles on it every other weekend if there is snow in the pass since the Focus has the snow tires, and the Jetta doesn't. Once the weather clears, there will be less miles on the Focus and I might ask about the Jetta at Jiffy Lube, but for some reason I just don't know how I feel about taking the Jetta there.

When I did a Jiffy Lube shop they said if you wanted synthetic oil, you could request it, but they would not reimburse the extra cost for the synthetic. So you'd still be getting most of the shop reimbursed. How much more is the synthetic anyway? It's been years since I used it in a motorcycle and I don't remember how much more expensive it was back then.

I go by mileage and not the color of the oil. I think my Toyota could probably go 5K in between changes but I'm still using the old standard of 3 mos./or 3000 mi.
I just didn't want to go in there and have the oil still be translucent. smiling smiley I suppose I could go pull out my dipstick . . . if I can find it . . . .

I keep looking at all those and wish I owned 5 more cars.LOL Don't need an oil change, yet. Once I accidentally scheduled an oil change shop and thought it was a new car shop. I then borrowed a vehicle from a friend and did the shop. I had just done 2 oil change shops that same week with both mine and my spouse's car. I had to get ahold of 2 or 3 friends who might appreciate a free oil change to find one who needed one.

@eveb
I did a BWW with an accompanying 18 - 44 year old male. It was a Late late dinner. I would not have gone out at midnight alone otherwise if I were a normal customer.

I always get the synthetic when doing an oil change and pay the difference. One of the OCH assignments was a reiumbursement only. I paid $59, got reiumbursed $37. Still better than paying for the whole thing on my dime.

All of the frantic emails almost make me want to find someone to refer just so I can stop receiving the same emails!
If I could make ANY of the email assignment notifications stop right now, it would be the multiple ones I am receiving several times a day for the funeral phone shops. tongue sticking out smiley

I did a lot of those this week and feel like I've learned so much about the industry. I'm just glad I wasn't actually going through the process...between the transferring me to the wrong people multiple times, calling me the wrong name, and forgetting which relative I said had passed away, I would have been pissed if I was really in need of help.
I did my first funeral phone shop ever this last week. Don't think I'll be doing another one. Just felt like bad juju. Not sure how to explain it better than that.

At Jiffy Lube, my Ford Focus is $24.99. That does include a $10.00 off coupon that could expire at any time. The Jetta was quoted at about $75.00.
