Anyone ever done an AARP Major medical shops where they require a face to face confrontation at a center near you?

No, I saw those but didn't request one. Because you are inquiring on behalf of someone else, it should allow you a fair amount of leeway to say 'I don't know' to things like social security numbers for credit check and specific medical details. I suspect they are a shop that can be done readily and are likely to have minimal 'forever follow up'. (I am STILL receiving follow up phone calls and mailings from an auto dealership shop I did in FEBRUARY! This despite telling them that we bought a different brand of car so are no longer looking for a new car.)

AARP has reasonable medical insurance plans and I have my health insurance through them. Their telephone folks have always been competent and not too pushy, so if I was going to do a health insurance shop it would probably be with them.
I have done several of the medicare shops and AARP shop and still have 3 scheduled and I love doing them. They are easy and not alot involved in doing them other than listening to their presentation. Everyone is always so nice. The paperwork is not that hard either.
An absolute piece of cake. If the weather here hadn't been so awful I would have grabbed a dozen.
