Because you are inquiring on behalf of someone else, it should allow you a fair amount of leeway to say 'I don't know' to things like social security numbers for credit check and specific medical details. I suspect they are a shop that can be done readily and are likely to have minimal 'forever follow up'. (I am STILL receiving follow up phone calls and mailings from an auto dealership shop I did in FEBRUARY! This despite telling them that we bought a different brand of car so are no longer looking for a new car.)
AARP has reasonable medical insurance plans and I have my health insurance through them. Their telephone folks have always been competent and not too pushy, so if I was going to do a health insurance shop it would probably be with them.
