So my first ever cancelation and a not so Merry Christmas

So was assigned my second shop with a company that I really liked the support for in the first one, but there just isn't much in my area. I am still on probationary status and was looking forward to do another one.

I was going to be Ina hotel for a few nights 3.5 hours from home to be with my hubby as he is dealing with all the issues related to his dad's health and current stay in a rehab facility. Plan was to spend most of the dayon Christmas Eve with my FIL as it is the anniversary of MIL's death, it is rough for him. Spend the night in a hotel do a quick visit with FIL and the drive the 90 minutes to by family, which included two of my three kids.

Got a nice restaurant that had to be done by Christmas Eve and confirmed it was open on the 24th and made the reservation. Woke up the morning of the 24th with the worst stomach flu ever. Hubby and I ended up adding another night to our hotel stay and not leaving our room. Couldn't keep anything down yesterday and just crackers and water for our Christmas dinner today.

So canceled the shop and hope they will believe me. Beyond bummed as I didn't get to see family for the holiday sad smiley

So sorry you were sick on Christmas. You sound like you have your plate pretty full with your family right now too. I hope you get your FIL nursed back to go health soon too. Feel better soon!

So sorry to hear of all the problems. It is so difficult when family starts getting older and especially if they are not close by. And then getting sick yourself! I hope the msc will understand and you will get off to a new year in a few days with a fresh new start with them. I wish you the happiest of years for all of 2013. This one is certainly ending on a down note. Ring in a great new year.

sorry to hear of your troubles. Just remember your family is way more important than any job.
Most people understand when stuff like this happens. You may be able to get the shop rescheduled when you feel better.
If you have been shopping a while and this is your first cancellation, you are doing better than me. I have had a few rescheduled and had to bail out a couple of times for good reasons.

I have always found a way to reschedule, so this bugs me. I had planned to spend Christmas night at my aunt's house and heading home this morning. Ended p with two extra nights in the hotel as I still wasn't well enough to travel today. Finally kept some soup down, so hopefully will be able to go home tomorrow. I can't stay at FIL's house as he is heavy cigar smoker and can't deal with the odor, so two extra days barricaded in a hotel is expensive, especially when I am not enjoying it at all.
