How long before a MSC deactivate shoppers?

I am a new shopper. I just started signing up for MS companies around the end of December. I had trouble with my login for Market Force. When I requested help, I found out that I was deactivate because I haven't selected any shops. Has this happened to anyone else. How often do you have to select shops in order to keep you account active? Are other companies like this?

Thanks,

I'm on about 50 companies' lists and I've only ever shopped for about 20 of them and nobody has deactivated me yet. Market Force seems to have a reputation here for frivolous deactivations. Maybe they get a gazillion new shoppers every week and if they don't shop something within three months they deactivate just to keep their list from getting unwieldy. If you're serious about mystery shopping, sign up again and this time go do a shop.

Have you been signing in and checking the boards regularly or have you not signed in since you signed up? I check the boards of all of mine regularly but most don't have anything in my area. But they know I've signed in and searched so they know I'm still interested. If you've never signed in again they might have removed you so they weren't sending you a bunch of unwanted email.

Good point about signing in. In 2011 I only completed one shop for the entire year, but no doubt signed in at least once every month or so.

Another thought, check the e-mail address on file. Some companies will suspend an account if e-mails keep getting bounced back.

I once was de-activated from one shop from a long standing MSC because I was spotted. I could not do that location for a year, am now back and all's good. MF does de-activate as they see fit, if you cancell, flake, don't take jobs, it's a high five and a goodbye.

I try to update my shopper profiles on each MSC I am signed up with at least twice a year to keep my status active. All dates for last contact made with MSCs that I only work for occasionally are noted on my list of companies so I know when it's time for me to think about checking in again.

I use a program called KeePass (http://keepass.info/) to store my login information for websites. It's a password management tool, which allows for me to use different passwords for each website and keep them all together in a locked file. It also largely automates the login process, so I can access any MSC's site with just a few keystrokes, even though my password might be a 16-character random string of letters and numbers. CTRL-U takes me to the MSC's site, then CTRL-V (usually) logs me in automatically.

Why is this relevant to this thread? KeePass automatically tracks the last time an entry was updated, as well as the last time a site was accessed. That makes it easy for me to tell how long it has been since I last visited a site. I can also put notes in the entry for each MSC. I can even set a password expiration time, which will mark an MSC's entry on my list and let me know at a glance that it's time to log in. When I update my profile, I usually update my password as well, which keeps me active with the MSCs and also keeps my personal data more secure -- which is good practice anyway, given the amount of information we often put into our profiles.

Turns out some will suspend if this happens once. My ISP had a glitch which was solved within two hours. I was suspended from several MSCs due to having a bad email. Not a huge deal, since I was able to rectify the situation, but still...
Once is a little quick on the trigger. How many of us have sent e-mails to MSCs that bounce back. Good thing we don't deactivate them as quicklysmiling smiley
