IMSC Conference Hotel Rates

Does anyone know if there is a special rate, and if so, what it is, for us for the conference in Atlanta? I saw a great deal, but did not know if there was a rate that would be better going through the IMSC block rate.

You can link through the IMSC site. Don't quote me, maybe around $109 before taxes. I think they also charge for parking.

you are suppose to use all the loyalty points you earned from all your mystery shopping to get a free room

This is probably a dumb question since I have shopped for a long time, but, what are loyalty points?
Rewards points. You earn so many for every night you stay at the chain. BTW techman, this is the Melia Hotel and there are not many of them around. I also didn't see anything on their website about being affiliated with any of the major chains.

Here is the information for the Atlanta IMSC Conference hotel.

In an effort to help offset the cost of multiple conferences for attendees who stay at our host hotel (the Meliá) and register using the IMSC group code will be entered into a special drawing for a free entry to an upcoming conference of their choice and $50.00 in cash. This is a $200.00 value.

Simply bring us proof of stay at the hotel and once we confirm it through our reservation list we will add your name to the drawing which will be held on the last day of the conference at 2:50 PM.

Make your reservation:
Call 404-877-9000. Ask for the reservations department and state you are attending the IMSC conference. Or follow this link:
[resweb.passkey.com]

(Note: The winning free entry is limited only to conferences held at hotel properties.)

Also, if you go through something other than the link above, let us know via info@imscinfo.com so we can try to keep you with our group.

This will only offset the cost for one attendee.
It's Atlanta where hundreds of quality brand name hotels are, stay off-site and walk on over...

if I go, and i'm not sure one way or another yet, I would be staying at the Marriot Marquis

There do not appear to be many hotels within walking distance and the prices are comparable. It is hard to say how safe it would be walking around late in the evening.

The Marriott hotel and numerous others are within a half mile....That's only a few blocks in NYC.

the marriott has transportation if one does not want to walk the 5-10 minute walk

Also it looks like the imsc group rate is the same as the unrestricted rate, just a better "view"?

The IMSC will also set you up with a roommate so that you can save 50%.

I went to the NV conference in November and spent very little time in my room. There were seminars and networking events 9-10 hours a day, then -Vegas! of course at night.

This year I will be attending and giving two talks in Atlanta. One is on "Using Voice Recognition Software for Narratives" and the other is on "Turning Your Car Into A Rolling Office With Electronic Devices."

Hope to see you there - smiling smiley

I was leaning toward going, but we will see. It is worth it to go visit with my buddies, but it would also be nice if they had more seminars geared toward the seasoned shopper.

Oh I was hoping to see you! I have all ready signed up but didn't see what the seminars are yet...guess I should check that out! If nothing else I thought Gary Walsh was extremely motivating and he is a keynote again.

Well now you know I'll do my best to get there!

I thought wales was still on the fence and haven't heard about TechSavvy either. Other than Eric and now you, do we know who else has been able to commit at this point?

No I don't. I need to drive down to my condo sometime in May/June anyway and I go right through Atlanta so this is perfect. My niece is coming with and she does compliance shops and we are hoping to get a nice route of them for her along the way. Of course who knows how that will work out. I would love to see some familiar faces as well as meet some new contacts too!

Ok, I committed to the conference and I should be committed. My credit card bill just got jacked way up. I bought the Groupon deal for the hotel (5 nights, Wednesday thru Sunday.) I plan on staying for the video workshop on Sunday.

How can I find out who is giving presentations, when they take place, and what the topic/cost will be? I looked on IMSC's site but did not see a schedule. I am definitely going, but with this being my first time, I need some guidance figuring out the ropes.
As of a couple of days ago the agenda was not listed. Unless you plan on taking the video workshop the day after the official conference, there will be no additional costs for any of the seminars. Normally there are at least two and sometimes three seminars for each available time and you can pick and choose which one you want to attend. Assuming the same set up as Chicago, the rooms will all be adjacent to each other. This has allowed them to create one large room for things like the welcome and the evening cocktails.

I'm committed. My roomie booked two nights using groupon. We're staying an extra night at an Hilton property using HHonor points, so we can tour World of Coke and CNN...mini vacation!

Feel free to email us at info@imscinfo.com with any questions you have about the conference. We are looking forward to seeing all of you!
Bahahaha! You are hilarious Lisa! I get my over-thinking problem honestly. Good gracious, look at how my name is spelled. My mom probably over thought it too much, decided "Amy" was too generic, so she chose to use "Amie". I have been cursed my whole life when I am called from nearly every waiting room and referred to as "Annie". Thanks, mom. smiling smiley
I wish I could see you guys at Atlanta, but I'll be going on a cruise in June and can't swing both. Chicago was such fun...I need to do it again as soon as I can!
Well la-di-dagrinning smiley I figured you were on for Atlanta and you will be missed. I'm trying to convince them to give St. Louis a shot for one so no excuses then!

Oh, I'd be at St. Louis in a flash! Anything in easy driving distance gives me no excuse! I would have had to fly to Atlanta, though....
St. Louis is far for me but I want to visit the city and the state of Missouri. I only have 12 more states to go to hit the Big 5-0 and Missouri is one of them. :-)

I vote for St. louis for spring 2014.

Servanne, are you keeping a count of these votes? A whole bunch of shoppers from this board would attend, just to meet LisaStL!
