IMSC Hotel Rate

Hi everyone,
If you are going to the IMSC in Atlanta and have not booked a room, you may want to check Groupon to see if you can get a better rate through their promotion. I booked a room at the Melia (where the conference is) for $78 a night. The best rate I could find outside of this was for $109. I think the deal is going on for a few more days, but am not sure. I just booked mine last night.
Anyways, just food for thought. I am always looking for ways to save a buck or two! smiling smiley

In case it is necessary to mention, I am not affiliated with Groupon, the hotel, or any other cause related and will not gain anything by mentioning the rate I found. Only sharing the deal I found. I use those deals a lot and just stumbled on this one in a daily email I get from them.

My IMSC roomie also booked our 2 nights using Groupon. However, I wonder if we'll be missing the breakfast that you get booking thru the IMSC. Good thing I'm not a breakfast person, so it doesn't matter.

amie, looking forward to meeting you there!

The IMSC deal includes breakfast? All I saw in Chicago were pastries, but then again the only time I get to sleep late is away from home so those early workshops weren't happeningsmiling smiley

The conference in Orlando had breakfast in a banquet room each morning, if you book through IMSC. I skipped breakfast, but my roomie went and said it was good and she got a chance to meet a lot of other ms'er, as it was set up in large round tables of 10.

In Chicago I remember the food (pastries, snack, etc) always being inside the conference room. There was not a separate breakfast coupon, room, or area that would be only for hotel guests.

I am wondering though if the IMSC rate includes parking. I notice that the Groupon rate includes valet parking.

I am torn. I all ready have a reservation but would save nearly 100 dollars by switching but lose the flexibility of being able to cancel if need be. I am not expecting to cancel but you never know what might happen.

Me and mornings have a hard time getting along as it is. I don't think there is a prayer that I would make it. smiling smiley
Could u go to the breakfast to socialize and not eat? Not that I would make it, but still....

Not at the Orlando conference a few years back. We were given a ticket to get in the banquet room. Once in, you sit in large round banquet tables and they start serving everyone. I have no clue if they offer breakfast at the Atlanta conference. I should ask Servanne or Pam.

We try to have light breakfast food and coffee in the morning at no additional cost to attendees. We did not like separating everyone and want everyone to be able to network as much as possible.

The bigger reason to be there is the first prize giveaways will take place in the main conference hall at 7:50 AM Friday and Saturday.
I just bought my Groupon deal. 5 nights, Wednesday thru Sunday (check-out on Monday.) My next credit card bill is going to be way high. Yikes!

I also paid my $50.00 reservation for the Atlanta conference.

coffee and drawing is not enough to entice me to be up at 7:50am! Yawn!

Could we designate a representative to go on our behalf to the drawing? smiling smiley I will make a deal with someone...they go down in the morning for me and I will stay up until the wee hours of the morning to fill them in everything they missed. smiling smiley Somehow, I doubt that idea will fly.
Most conferences charge a whole lot more per day for far fewer workshops and presentations per day. Early on, attendees were polled and demanded earlier starting times, and later last sessions, in order to make the most of our money.

Sleep in if you like, but there will be very worthwhile sessions at almost any hour. Even when the first session is a motivational speaker (my least favorite sort of speaker of all time) I go early for coffee and networking. Network, network, network. That's where the real conference dividends lie!!!

Won a new GPS. Since I love my old Garmon, I sold it for a nice price on Craig's list. Have also won free entry to future IMSC conferences, twice!

I'll be up early for a chance to win free stuff and networking. I survive on little sleep as it is. My friends call me a creature of the night. B12 works great since I don't usually drink coffee.
