I too have recieved this e-mail. STOP, STOP,STOP.

With how bad the economy is, it's no wonder we can fall for such scams. Times are tough and we have faith in people,and simple trust. Please remember that "If it sounds too good to be true, it usually is." Most probably always is...

I recieve these e-mails hourly and desperately need funds, but sometimes something whispers in your ear, "be careful", listen!

Depending on your email provider, stuff such as this can be marked as "Spam". Future contacts will just go in your junk mail and it can alert your email provider to set their systems to send future contacts to any/all of their subscriber accounts to go to junk mail or just be rejected by their email system entirely.

Are you by any chance registered with Shadow Shopper?

I just registered with them yesterday. So far, no jobs.

And you received the spam AFTER registering at SS?

We're pretty sure SS shares your email address with scam companies. You can expect some of those emails too. And, BTW, you shouldn't use your email as your ID. That's another way spammers get your address.

When I tried to change it, there was nothing under edit that allowed me to do it.

I don't think you can change your user ID. Definitely you can't change it in the post. Perhaps you should try to sign up again with a different name and figure these older posts will get buried in old threads rather than continuously be brought to the fore.

I think you will. It took 8 months for me to get my first one. We figured this out a few months ago. I have an email address that I use only for shopping, and that's the one that has received a few scams. And considering their credit card practices, SS is just the most likely candidate. I can't imagine any legit MSP, even the cheap ones, sharing our addresses those people. The positive side is that you get a few and then it stops, and I've trained Thunderbird to recognize them and filter them out.

We've had spammers right\here at the forum, and others search through forums to capture email addresses. just get a new ID. We'll recognize you.

Oh, I sure hope not. I would hate to have to make a new e-address and then go back and change it for all those companies I registered with! I guess I can only wait and see.
