Smartphone-Yea!! CC Fraud-Boo!!

Got in on the recent round of Smartphones since my old phone was cantankerous and had stopped even ringing the last few days. Paid for it on my credit card on Thursday. Stared an overnight route on Friday. Hotel went thru fine. Tried to use the card for a meal last night and was declined. Got a call this morning that there was a fraud alert on my card. Never happened before. The number had been used on three transactions several states away. Coincidence? Just keep an on your account...

I am so sorry to hear about your CC fraud. Your right it may of been the phone store, but it could of also been somewhere you used it earlier in week too. I hope you get all the fraud charges removed and nothing happens further to you. Try to have a good weekend even though it didn't start to good.
Glad I paid in cash now, just in case.

Glad I've got more than one credit card.

I pray it does not occur that the last thing I did before I died was vacuum the house or eat broccoli.
Oh, I know it could have been something else. They caught it very quickly, I think. It will all work out!

It worked out that I had a wad of cash on me anyway since I had done a payday loan assignment right before doing the cell phone shop. So I thought it would be best to unload it right away.

When my checking & credit card accounts are used I receive a text. Wish that was so with our joint account, it has been used twice & the bank just gave me credit, did not even bother with it telling me it was such as small amount =O
Gas stations and automated parking machines are often loaded with card scanners that steal your data. The thugs then embed it onto other cards, and then charge away.
I had a fraud alert on my account last month for $1000! Thank God that my bank stopped it. I was not happy and made a comment about just carrying cash from now on. His response, "Ma'am, I understand your frustrations. Think of it this way; if you carried cash and were mugged, you would probably never see that money again." I quickly calmed down and said that was a good point. They bank stopped it before it even went through and I am thankful. He explained that it can happen anywhere from your waitress to anywhere you slide your card. Pretty scary, huh?!
Last year at the IMSC conference in Chicago, my card was apparently compromised by a hotel employee. That was the only time I used it that weekend. The cc company was great about catching fraudulent attempts to use it and issuing me a new one.
