I've been mysteryshopping for about a month and have figured out that you need multiple companies to make money and each company has their own speciality. My question is do you feel comfortable giving your ssn out to thse companies on the web?I'm so worried that I will end up with idenity theft trying to make a little cash.

If you stick with real companies, ie, as on the list here, v or ms org, you should be okay. the IRS has a directive they need our ssn. for some companies, they have not implemented it yet. I was also nervous when this went into play, but sticking with companies I contact via validated lists vs ones that ask me for info has done well by my confidentiality.

Nearly everything is a risk online now. There are no 100% guarantees, but usually if you stick with the 250 company list that they have, you are fairly safe. Also, change your password often. I once had a problem submitting a report, the scheduler offer to try from her end but needed my password. I gave it to her in order to get my report in, but after she sad it submitted okay. I immediately changed my password to a new one. Also, use unusual passwords, so it would make it difficult for a hacker to get. Also, Watch the movie if you can "Hackers" It shows just how much damage they can do. Literally ruin your life in more ways than one. Hopethis helps
