Problems with receiving shops

I am trying to figure out, what's up with the MS companies. I signed up with a few more companies and have been getting lots of emails for shops.

I decided to try a couple shops with these companies. I "accepted" a few shops, one the end of Feb and a couple more first week of March!!! Of course most shops have to be done within a certain time frame and I listed the date I plan to do the shop. I then wait for the confirmation email, which never comes.

So I think, someone else beat me to the shop. Then a day or two later, I get another email offering me the same job, that I already accepted. Huh!

This happened to me on 3 shops, from yesterday. And they are with different companies. This morning, I look for the shops I accepted and they are still showing available!

Of course most companie have their specific ways of doing stuff. Many/most of the emails I get direct me to go to their website to look at the shops. If it is a SASSIE company you can see in "My Apps" those jobs you have requested but not yet been assigned. The request disappears from "My Apps" once it is assigned. Some companies just keep advertising them until the day comes to decide who gets them. I have a request in "My Apps" that is pretty close to 2 months old because the client postponed the shop, but I'm pretty high in the queue when they finally release it. The job is no longer shown on their job board but is likely to reappear when the client finally releases.

I think Prophet shops are all self assign--if you can see it the system as determined you are eligible so it is first come first served.

And then there are the jobs advertised that are not really existing jobs but an attempt to get you to sign up. Kern has the decency to identify these that they are not a current job but the indecency to post them as if they were.

I have never seen Kern do that here. Everything they list here is, like, due NOW! :-)

Unless they told you that you were assigned the shop, they may be holding out because they have another shopper in minde for the job. Usually the emails are automated and just go out. If you were assigned that particular shop, there still could be more shoppers that will do the same shop. Unless it is a self-assign shop, it is not your shop because you accept it. The company has to email you telling you that you have been accepted.

I think your right on this, as the shop appeared a couple days, after I accepted it and before the date I agreed to do the shop.

They definitely have preferred shoppers. Don't know why they even post sometimes.
So that they can create new groups of preferred shoppers? tee hee.

I don't know, maybe some of the schedulers do. Speaking for me, I don't have that impression at all. But who could blame them if they did? Think about it:
scheduling co.'s are sent in to fill jobs they MSC could not themselves, or does not have staff for that, or doesn't have lists of shoppers for the location. They have short deadlines and need to be sure that whoever they assign is going to come through except for personal emergency or act of god. I would sure have favorites!

That is why they say sign up with atleast 100 different companies. Some or many of the companies rotate shoppers, so it takes work to build up something steady.
I believe that if you email the person that sent ou the shop listings and explain your interest, this may open a door for you. It almost makes you feel inferior. let us know how that turns out. shopping4cruises Wrote:
