Interesting video....let them think that's how we do it!

I stumbled across a Youtube video of someone teaching people how to order McD's food like a mystery shopper so that they get better quality food....maybe UK McD's are different than US ones, but this has some inaccuracies in it. All the better....

He was interesting. I was amazed at how many YouTube videos about mystery shopping there were!
One thing I find very interesting is how some MSCs try hard to promote their Facebook and Twitter pages but don't (or don't hardly ever) let shoppers know those MSCs have YouTube accounts/channels with useful videos.
You mean you guys don't take notes and ask for a receipt?

I've mastered the art of pretending to text while looking like a slacker teenager.
LOL!

I think my advice (in general, not necessarily for McD's), would be to order only one small item and stand there waiting for them to make suggestions while staring at their badge, running your eyes up and down them, leaning over to look at the fries bin or the cook line or whatever, etc! :-)

I know that another discussion asked if people ever pretend to be a bad mystery shopper in order to get better service. I have to admit that it is tempting at times! Hmmm... maybe only at places that I would never actually shop.
I've actually told the few friends and coworkers that know I shop how to look like a shopper.

a. They get great service.
b. They make great decoys as they get "spotted" while I fly under the radar.

I was eating at a restaurant and had a notepad to make notes about a book I was writing. I would be writing and the waitress would come over so I would close up my notepad and talk to her. Obviously they thought I was a mystery shopper because the service I received was OUTSTANDING!
