Apartment Shop - Reaching the Target?

Hello all. I'm trying to complete a couple of apartment shops whereby I have to shop a specific person, (target), but everytime I call, the target never answers the phone (it's always another staff member).

Any advice on how to reach the target?

Thanks in advance.

I know a lot of shoppers don't take these shops and I am one of them. The reason? It's so difficult to reach the target.

Got it! Thank you.
Check the instructions. Depending on the MSC, you may be able to contact the scheduler after "X" attempts/days for guidance.

Have someone else call to engage one associate (or the receptionist) to see if your target then answers when you also call.

OR, email the scheduler and ask for permission to ask for the target. You will need a cover story about how you got the target's name if you ask for him/her by name, of course.

Or, have someone of a different gender, with a distinctive voice, call and ask for the target. They may discover that the target does not work at that phone number because it is a remote "call center", or is gone for a week or two, or is on indefinate medical leave, or when the target is next scheduled to work, or no longer works for that firm.

Mission Impossible...I just cancelled a shop due to the time reaching (NOT) the target. I know after three days, they
will tell you to ask for the target (which works sometimes), but I think if you call 4 times a day for two days, you should
receive a bit more $$...just sayin....

I don't like the target shops either. It's stressful...I have had one that lasted 3 days..They say to keep calling..... and calling...........I won't do target shops again...

I finally called and asked for the target, (intentionally flubbing the name a little bit), saying that a friend had called before and spoke with this person once and recommended them. It worked great!
yep, these are tough. 20 is the magic number..lol. I know because its happened to me many times. Lesson learned, only take these if you have a landline!
I have only had a couple of instances where it was extremely difficult to reach the target. I've shopped apartments many, many times. If I've tried for two days without success I email the scheduler for specific days/hours the target works (they can get from the client). This helps especially if they are part time.
Great advice. I just got 3 video shops where they provide the equipment. $50 each is not too shabby! Normal price is $35 for a non-video shop.

How about because it isn't allowedsmiling smiley Many of these are recorded calls.

Never try to teach a pig to sing. It's a waste of your time and it really annoys the pig.
I'll keep it short
I had one recently where I made 58 calls over 3 weeks trying to reach target
YES, I typed that right, 58 RECORDED calls over three weeks
After about 15 tries I asked the scheduler to verify the target schedule.
They said '" Just keep trying"
So I called off the recorded line and asked for the target
I was told she transferred to another community over a month previous.
Went through the facade of wasted calls and asking repeatedly for the MSC to VERIFY the target is working there. ( I did not tell them I called off recording)
After the third time the scheduler said that I just needed to keep calling because it is a rush shop , I called the scheduler out and said I called off recording and was told the target is no longer at that community.

I was DEACTIVATED as a shopper for doing that

BTW, I had done over 600 shops for that MSC in over 6 years
They could care less how they wasted my time
And the worst part of making all those calls is that you don't even receive any reimbursement for all of that work.

Once I knew the target no longer worked there, I was repeatedly sending emails asking them to VERIFY the target actually worked there so I was not wasting my time.
They kept telling me the management company did which I knew was a lie because I had verified that she did not.
I asked them to find out which specific days were best to get her.
All I heard was keep calling.
Towards the end my emails became very sarcastic about what a waste of my time this was and to cancel the shop.
I said I can't leave every day open to for just one shop.

They said If I cancel I would be labeled a flake and subject to deactivation.
It got to the point I had to call them out and that I knew the target was no longer there and got deactivated anyway.
I cancelled a shop and got no negative feedback, and still keep getting their emails asking me to work. I am surprised anyone is cancelled for cancelling a shop.
