Did they send you a check up front? That is a guarantee it was a scam. If you independently found a website to sign up it may not be too bad. If you were directed to the website to sign up they may have been looking to snag your personal information. Hopefully you gave no credit card or bank account numbers. If you have the website you went to, PM it to me and I will check to see if it looks like it might be legitimate.

It's a COMPLETE OFFERS site.

From their TERMS AND CONDITIONS

"Members (Mystery Shoppers) won't be eligible for cash incentives by only completing the Mystery Shopping Jobs. Signing up for the offers, advertised by our partners, is necessary in order to be eligible for cash incentives."

"All cash payment amounts may be changed or modified at any time and at the discretion of SecretOnlineShoppers.com."

Thanks Joan, I don't even need to go to the website smiling smiley This is one of those 'don't touch it with a 10 foot pole' situations. They are using shopping jobs as an incentive to rip you with signing up for offers. I seriously doubt that the 'shopping jobs' are legitimate. Legitimate companies do not have requirements that you do more than the job you accept, do it according to instructions and do and report it in a timely fashion.
Yes, we had a discussion elsewhere about this company when they first came to notice. I sure am not going there! :-)

Sorry, I didn't remember it. There are so many scams out there that pose as "Mystery Shopping". When I was researching Mystery Shopping to consider getting back into it a number of years ago I believe it was a Federal Trade Commission site I ended up on that warned of the scams even then and directed would-be shoppers to the MSPA website.
Thought it sounded familiar, but I couldn't remember from where LOL

Flash, it was not here. One of the other boards. I don't think you saw it, so that would explain not remembering. I know Joan was involved so that is why I answered referencing it that way. I confused you - sorry. :-(

Yes, that was the discussion I was referencing. They really are not MS'ing. And they give no info about who is behind the company on their own website. It's all behind the curtain, like the Wizard of Oz. :-)

Until I read this, I didn't realize that I hadn't been paid by them for about a dozen Internet searches last August. I looked it up, and I don't have a record of them paying me. A few weeks ago, I came across their website in my records and tried to see if there were other assignments but could not do it from there. All of the Internet searches I did were for legitimate companies and several of them emailed, called or mailed follow-ups to me for several weeks.
Hello Everyone,
I have ran accross legimate companies too that I have done good with. thankyou all for advice I will certainly stay away from this one I did have abad feeling. Yes its like the oz in the wizard of oz its there then it disappears its like they want you to visit but everything is a secret of who they are and they wont let youin. At least I removed them from my email address and they stopped emailing me.
