POST OFFICE -PRIORITY MAIL NOW INCLUDES NSURANCE

I did four USPS shops today. As of Monday the cost of Priority Mail now ncludes $50 of insurance so they don't have to ask.

There are no stupid questions, but there are a lot of inquisitive idiots

They should inform you and ask if you need additional. If you purchase online you get up to $100 insurance, at the PO only up to $50. Express is now called Priority Express Mail, so be carefule to what the clerk says.
I'm pretty sure that Insurance is not an option on the online form as one of the services to indicate if they offered.
I was aked today if I wanted insurance. The clerk stated only tracking comes with Priority mail. The clerks don't always have the updates!!
I just checked the USPS website which has informational panels cycling through.

The Priority Express includes $100 worth of insurance.

Priority includes $50 worth of insurance.

I just mailed a package and did the label online. It came with $100 insurance, and asked if I wanted to buy more. So yes, you can buy insurance online.

NOTE: I'm not on the forum every day. If someone comments on my post, I might not reply right away. I've been a shopper since 1991. I've never done any work for a MS company in any other capacity.
I did one 2 days ago and the clerk asked if i wanted insurance. I gave her a surprised look and told her I thought priority came with insurance. She said, no, only tracking? i knew was not supposed to pay for it. So, I did not.
You would not have paid. The first time I heard about it, the clerk did not know either. She tried to enter insurance and the computer would not let her.
So sorry I wasn't clear. I meant submitting the report online. I just entered another, and it does not provide "extra insurance" as an option for services offered. I've been making note of it in the comments section.
