Not true. (on the scam shops only). Innocent shoppers have taken those checks to the bank, only to be told they are "good". It is ONLY after a few weeks, that the check comes back as fraud. Guess who is left holding the bag? The shopper.
Do NOT rely on the bank teller to inform you the check is "okay" to cash. These checks are designed by professional criminals and an average bank clerk might not detect the check is fraudulent.
If you must believe these scammers, wait 2 weeks (the scammers say to cash/ send right away because they know the two (2) day law, where funds must be made available to you.) and you will see the check "bounce."
But, as we always say here, we hope shoppers come here to the forum BEFORE they become a victim and learn more about 2 day funding on most bank checks. Too bad because the checks are temporarily funded, then bounced and then it's back dumped on the shopper.
