dlangley,
Welcome. Every shopper would give you a different list. Some people love fast food shops; others hate them. Some love revealed shops; others will never do them. Some MSCs in my area may not have anything in your neck of the woods. If you are just starting out you might do best to sign up with about 10 MSCs to begin with and then add a few per week until you have 75-100. Trying just one shop at a time of a given type or for a particulat client may also help you to decide what is and is not best for you, without committing to a whole bunch of one sort of shop and then finding out that you hate, hate, hate that client or the MSC or the report, or all of the above.

My favorite 10 MSCs for 2013 are the ones who...

1) pay quickly (prefer PayPal payments)
2) pay a fair rate based on the amount of work
3) offer great communication among schedulers and shoppers (even on weekends!)
4) offer bonuses (Show me the money!)
5) use job boards to post their available jobs
6) allow self-scheduling (once you have proven yourself to be a reliable shopper)
7) allow me to create routes (to save on gas and time)
8) have well-written and easy to understand guidelines and reports
9) have a 24-hour (or more) turn-around for reports (12-hour deadline is tough for me since I work a full time job.)
10) respect me as a shopper and a valuable asset to their company and clients (Am I humble or what?)

I will say, after 3 years of doing this nearly full time on top of a full time job and 10+ years before of doing it on a sporadic basis, that my favorite companies tend to be ones I don't shop for much. Perhaps it is doing something over and over that gets me down.

Rapid paying is probably the top criteria though.

RSG and Albatross both pay really quickly.

Trendsource pays quickly but I think their pay is low.

I've lost track of how many companies I'm registered with-- I did shops for 30+ companies in 2012.
I think this is just a way of finding out a few good companies to sign up with. Register with multiple companies like most of the rest of us have.
dlangley, what are your favourite companies?

My favourite companies are:

In Touch
Peformalogics
Spotcheckservices
CRG
Consumer Connection
Mystery Shopping Canada
Shoppers Confidential
Lanla
SQM
Service Metrics
Premier Service

Because they have work where I live in rural Alberta. I'm thinking my list doesn't help others very much.
Of course this is a way to shortcut reading the forum or even using the search function to find the umpteen million threads on this very subject. And of course the people who ask the question never provide a list of their own. My favorites are the same as Shop2Live.

Now I have a question. What ever happened to the thread "Before you ask for a list of the best MSCs."

Equal rights for others does not mean fewer rights for you. It's not pie.

No offense, but your postings are repetitious and certainly do not need to be repeated by Private Message.
Please, use the Forum's search feature.
Jobslinger will also yield lots of helpful connections between MSCs and client types in your area.
Follow the advice of the veterans and sign up for a minimum of 100 MSCs and you'll be flooded with opportunities.
Also, check out Mystery Shopper Magazine for the various recommended MSCs.
@ dlangley ~ Please take the advice listed in this thread and on the forum (tons of info here) instead of PM'ing every frequent poster for their favorite companies. I already posted my list above and I am not naming names.

Sorry if this sounds harsh but you only have three posts on the forum. Numbers are not everything but you need to put in your time like all successful MS'ers, auditors, and merchandisers have done. "Backdooring" it through PM's is not the way to prove yourself.

See, this is why I like being a jerk. Nobody PM's me for info, they just PM me thanking me for going off on people.
