Restaurant and Hotel Shops

Which companies do more fine restaurants and hotel shops? I have done a few and would like to do more.

So I guess Jacob isn't in his right mind, either; since he gives this kind of information in his Mystery Shopper Magazine. General categories aren't a big deal. Sheesh.

Just keep in mind that an MSC who does fine dining or hotels on the East coast, may not do them on the West coast. So the information may or may not be of any use to a particular person.

And check out Jacob's Mystery Shopper Magazine for further information along these lines.

In many cases, you will need to establish an excellent rep with the MSC on other shps before you will even see the hotel jobs.

I'm guessing that's why I haven't seen any. Still pretty new so haven't worked my way into those. I did get approved by regal last week and can see a few there though, so that's a start!

When Regal posts overnight hotel shops you had better be sitting at your computer, listening to the emails pinging in and leap to their site. Those go in nanoseconds. One good way to get one is to sign up to be notified if/when the shop becomes available because of a cancelation or flake. You will see that lower down on the list of shops where they show shop that are assigned but let you opt to be a "back-up" shopper.

Just keep in mind that Regal takes about 90 days to pay. If you have a credit card with a 0% introductory interest or you have extra cash to pay off your card so you don't incur interest, it's great, but sometimes those hotel folios run over $500 and you are out of pocket for a few months. And, the reports usually have pretty intense narratives for each section.

These hotel shops are definately not for newbies! The risks of having a shop denied becasue it is unacceptable are just too high. Build a rep and average scores in the 9-10 range before you even think about a hotel shop.

Regal has a bunch of the dinner shops in the midrange business hotel chain in my area that nobody seems to be taking. The ones where you buy a cocktail and food and then go back for a beer from the cooler. They're about an hour away but I might try one or two next week just to get a couple of reports in for them. They've been there a few days now and only 1 has been snatched up so far.
